Leak somewhere in the frontblock

Somewhere on the frontblock/pneus there's a leak hiding, it's been years since I troubleshot these things so I hardly remember what to do.

I did replace the pneumatic hose as it was very brittle and lose, I doubt it had been replaced at all since the marker was new.
But the leak persists.

Any ideas?

i would first tell you to turn off your lpr but it's an eclipse/belsales. get some soap and water and spray the front bock area, look for bubbles .

It's broke forever, but I'd be happy to buy it as a wall ornament!

Anyway - you might try some gently applied soapy water to get it isolated to solenoid, ram, or LPR. I have had two hard to find leaks - one was the o-rings inside the LPR and one was the manifold gasket on the 5-way.

It's been that way for a while? You can always put a couple drops of oil in the ASA, then gas it up, fire a couple shots and see if it goes away.

If you put the gun in classic mode, and hold the trigger does it go away?

But seriously, if you decide to sell, let me know.

When you air'd it up did you try shooting it? Was it able to cock the gun? I've usually had to replace the front ram o-rings when my cockers with nexus rams sat for some time.

I'd give you 500 for a broken DC2! Eat it HMCL

Thanks guys, those two posts brought me right back down memory lane..

Leak has been identified as coming from the rear QEV, leak stops when backblock is held back in classic mode.

Where do I move on from here, try to remove the QEV and apply loctite?
I can't be 100% sure on this, but I think the leak originates from where the QEV threads into the ram.

PS- I just got it, can't sell it; it's my eight[-ish] DC2; I should make this my last one and keep it

Do you by any chance have a normal barb you could swap on? I'd put a normal barb on to check and make sure you can isolate the problem as being the QEV.

Sadly I do not have any spare barbs

I'm pretty sure that the Ram was replaced at some point, because it's not the 'midnight blue-ish black' that the rest of the marker is.
Noticed that a moment ago when I finished rebuilding the stock reg and asa.

How I intend to keep and use it:

If you think the leak is coming from the QEV threads I'd just try using some blue loctite and seeing if that will fix it. Sometimes after a while they might rotate a little and you will get a leak.

eclipse ram and qev likes to leak at the joint, not the greatest place to try to make an air tight seal when one object is round and the other one is square. as stated above loctite would be your best bet but make sure it cure before you air it up.

since it's working now i'm willing to offer 250 for it.

FWIW - I've had better luck with teflon paste than blue Loctite.

Only have blue loctite on hand, going to let it sit overnight and see what happens tomorrow.
Last resort before hunting down new parts is placing a tiny o-ring between the ram and QEV.

Still leaks, could it be the ram itself, if so is there anything I can do?

Where is it leaking from? If the back QEV is venting air then you'll need to replace the oring in the ram or your QEV diaphragm might have gone bad.

you have to be positive it cure, try to turn the qev by hand and if it does not move you know it somewhat cure.

offer back to 200

Either the QEV or the rear of the RAM, can't be 100% sure so I think I'm going to get my hand on a rebuild kit for the ram.

Are the QEVs rebuildable or essentially scrap when broken?

Doesn't move without excessive force atm. Though it can't be screwed all the way in or it gets pointed in an awkward direction, got to stop 3/4 of a turn out.

the qev are rebuildable. mount the lpr hose directly to the back of the ram. that might help you to really verify where the leak is from. if you want to figure out if it's the qev just switch the front to the back and you will know since you know for sure the front qev do not leak. i'm still betting it's where the qev that thread into the ram that leaks.

just get more soap and water
