tips for burnt out feeling??
Hey guys so I'm going on my senior year (chemistry major) and feel completely burnt out. I really like my major but not the research job I got into for the summer. I have absolutely zero motivation lately and just feel constantly tired. I'm really hoping the fresh semester brings some energy but what have you guys done to bust a slump or avoid completely burn out?? Thanks.

Drink green tea. Get the good imported stuff if you can afford it.

Been doing this for a while actually. I try to wake up an hour early to read the news and have a cup or two.
Energy isn't the major problem its the severe lack of motivation. I've just been busting *** for the past two years and I feel like its finally catching up to me. Anybody else get this?

Completely. I've considered dropping my physics degree because of the two advanced labs I have to take despite the fact that I've taken the "hard" classes. I simply do not want to write 10 more 20+ page lab reports on **** like the charge to mass ratio of an electron. I have zero motivation for **** like that yet I'm loving my research internship.

Where are you doing your internship? As a grad student (Physics as well) I feel ya. Feel free to take it to PMs.
To OP - I have definitely gotten to the "burnt out feeling" before. Make sure you make time for recreational stuff - and mix it up. There's nothing wrong with taking time for you.
My other advice would be to really sit down and try to define what you want to go after. If you're going through the motions with no end goal that you really want in sight, things are going to start to drag.

I had to leave and move back home. I'll be applying to a different school for the spring.
A little drastic but then again I was feeling worse than burned out.

Im just gonna take the week off work to chill as im sure that's where most of it is coming from. I just had a garbage internship this summer but I really like my major overall. Much respect for you physics guys I'm terrible at all that stuff.

i find that going and doing some cardio normally helps me with this. That and knowing that in less than a year ill be done. So being burned out is foolish since ive come all this way.
Edit: oh yeah, and an unhealthy amount of drinking

Find a prostitute you don't have to pay for. Some colleges call them friends with benefits.

go on reddit and find a subreddit for something you love.
i go on /r/pokemon every morning while i drink my coffee, it always makes me happy and forget about looming assignments, daily stresses, etc
i know that the burnt out feeling is different than being stressed out, but maybe what i said will help too
