***Just purchased new Clone GT***

Hello,
I just replaced all my stolen paintball items. Got a new Clone GT (silver/black), Ninja 68/4500 adjustable tank and Dye Rotor. The last time I bought a new gun was 6 years ago. Around that time I had a 2003 Angel Speed, DM4 and AKA Viking. Is there anything I need to be careful with regarding the GT? Or any upgrades that most people do right away. I'm assuming since it has a gas through grip I can't put a drop forward on it? I'm gonna get a Stiffi Switch kit also next week. Will I be impressed compared to my previous three guns? Any helpful info on my new purchases would be great.

Thanks!!

People dont use drop forwards any more dude...... Snatch grips and drop forwards were the rage in like 03 lol. Just shoot your gt and enjoy it. It doesent really need any upgrades, I would just get an oring rebuild kit for it.... Also the stock shift barrel is nice and you can just buy the rest of the shift inserts for $99 to make it a kit. Saves you having to buy a whole new kit. unless you really like the stiffi barrels...

Can not use a drop foward on the GT, cause its a gas through design.

Only thing i would recommend is picking up some of our new V2 lube. This stuff last so much longer in the marker than the previous militia lube.
Click below to browse through our Macdev store.

Other than that, lube before everyday of play and go have a Blast.

Welcome to MacDev

I would recommend running your Ninja adjustable reg with all shims removed to bring it down to LP. Other than that just shoot it and enjoy it. If you have any questions along the way just post up here and you'll be helped out.

You might want a pressure tester, after every day of play clean the drivetrain and set the pressure to 100psi.

To break the marker in for first play:
- Shoot a full tank of air trough it
- Do regular maintenance on the reg
- Do regular maintenance on the drivetrain

Lube lightly, a 'wet' look is enough.

Do not do maintenance on the reg until you've shot your gun 10,000 times through your gun so it may break in.

I have $180 that I have to spend on a barrel for the GT. It's replacement money for a stolen SLY kit I had. Will the Stiffi Switch kit work well with the GT or is there a better barrel system. I noticed a Dye system but its $250+ and I don't wanna spend more than the $180 allotted for a new barrel.

I use the Shift Insert kit with the stock Shift barrel and I love it. It's $100 and allows you to keep the stock barrel on there (which I like).

That's going to vary a little bit from gun to gun based on just how broken in each gun is in addition to some other things.

You're probably looking at anything between 100-120psi to get 300fps if I had to give hard #'s.
