Thumbs up Metadyne Havoc Launcher (pics)

Got it finally!

Put the stock on, aired it up and test fired it once (no rocket) using a LP tank.

Scared the hell out of the cat and baby!

Plan on getting out soon to do some test firing with a rocket soon!

My plan is to fit it with either a 13ci tank attached to the stock, or a 12gm quick change. Ive been told the latter will give me 2 good shots. Since I plan on carrying this with me using a sling of some sort and keeping my pump as my primary weapon, this should keep the weight down a bit.

(Click on pic for really big version)

I tried it with a 12gm. I got one good shot. The second was not nearly as energetic, though it did launch the rocket.

So I ordered a 13ci tank and Myth regulator. I'm also going to swap the M16-style grip block for a .45 block. I believe that will give me enough room to use the tank on-gun and have the shoulder pad at the lowest position.

If that doesn't work, I'll try mounting the ASA/tank on top of the stock.

I've still got a month and a half till West Point, so plenty of time for tweaking.

I kinda wish I got in on the pre order for these. As cool as it is, there are just not enough scenario games around me anymore.

Would you be interested in a grapeshot round for it?

NOXX55 made some delrin "grapeshots" for them, the one i have is allright, 15 balls will just break, you can put 8 in his and not break one though. they work good. MEtadyne has released pics of their verions and the break barrel mod. both are supposed to be released this week.

The Phantom .45 grip block is standardized to fit on anything that has a removable M16 grip. I bought 2, one for the Havoc, and one for a Nova700 I bought.

Where did you see pics for the new Metadyne mods? Wasn't on the website that I saw.

the regulator knob, how far did you guys set yours? mine is out about 1/4 inch and it is still destroying my rockets, cheap knock-offs, haven't tried it on Nerfs. on the manual, it says no more than 1/4 inch.

oh by the way, i had a remote line setup using a dye throttle 70/4500.

My reg is screwed all the way in. Cheap rockets don't last but nerfs work great. I had lots of problems with CO2 but all is better now with HPA. I got a Ninja 13ci tank mounted on an ASA with a nipple btween the ASA & the side of the launcher I'm trying out. Nice & compact but I haven't filled the bottle yet so I don't know how mant shots I'll get.

Quite a few choose to run a T fitting off their tank/remote instead of having two tanks/remotes to deal with.
