Best Place to Buy Angel Speed (04?) Battery
Hey All,
Got an "unknown" Angel (pretty sure its a speed of some year) off of ebay for a couple bucks:
Now am trying to charge it. When I plug in the charger I do get the initial "I'm charging" sweep but it never takes enough of a charge to turn on. So I am thinking its the battery gone bad.
There is one on ebay but the price *seems* a little high for a used battery but I could be wrong: http://bit.ly/MttO4S
So the question is: Where can I get the appropriate battery for this marker at a decent price? I don't mind "pre-owned" as long as the price is right. And I checked with FMA and they only list LED batteries but I could have missed them.
Thanks in advance for the help!
-DK

I know this is irrelevant and seeing you a beginner here. That a1 barrel kit you just bought will not fit on this Speed here.

Woah... I always wondered what those guys did to be special! I have one near by, maybe I'll bring the pack by and see what they think.
Still think I would like to pick up a spare or two if possible.

There was another SM on AOG by the name of pitbull who would make high capacity batteries for angels... you could ask them *Batteries+* to do the same when you request a battery to be built... same output voltage, higher cap. cells...

Interesting idea! However, just cause I am a n00b and don't want to screw this up:
1) What are the specs I should be shooting for on the "customized" Angel Batteries? (Volts, Amps, Cells, Type, Material)
2) How do the specs differ based on the models? (I think they are different from the LED to LCD but I don't know if they continue to change for the other models.)
I would just hate to get it wrong and fry one of the markers or chargers in the process!
(Feel free to flame away if this is ask/answered someplace obvious)

2/3A high capacity batteries - 1.2V
LCD takes 5 in a stick (6V) speed takes 4 (4.8V)
be careful when they build that they dont over shrink wrap, the diameter of the tube is tight .

So Just to be sure:
Any LED & LCD take 5x 2/3A high cap batteries (1.2 each) for a total of 6V
Any newer angel with integrated batteries takes 4x 2/3A high cap batteries (1.2 each) for a total of 4.8V

yeah, they might even have 1400mAh
they will need the harness and possibly the grounding strip out of your existing pack.
and when they solder them together make sure the tabs/caps they use dont stick out and make the pack to wide.

The packs from Ballistic Batteries that you linked to before will work as well, but you can probably get one made locally for a little less. RC hobby shops are also a good place to ask.

Thanks Doc! That is a great idea. Have you personally worked with Ballistic before?
