Not sure why they are so cheap but they are some of the best one piece barrels out there for the price. If you are saving money to try to get a really nice barrel though you can save up and get a two piece kit from someone especially if you are going to play tournaments that way you will always be ready for whatever paint you have to shoot.

Well CP's design is very simple, so there is probably some savings there. Relatively little external milling, basic solid color anodizing and single bores end to end. But there is probably a little other juice there somewhere, maybe outsourced processing somehow or it might possibly be a loss leader.

It's not that they're cheap. CP barrels are priced just right. If they cost any more than what they do now people would get furious barrels or just 2 piece ones. Cp's have the best internal finishes iv'e ever seen along side freak kits (and im sure theirs others) absolutely perfect. I just bought a new CP Advantage barrel 5 minutes ago (16" .685 dust black) so i have yet to try that out, but the CP Classic barrels are accurate and very quiet. I went with the Advantage barrel because the tip is flat which i like (opposed to the grooves) and it SHOULD be lighter and quieter (because of more porting). only barrel that iv'e ever heard quieter than a 16" cp classic was a 16" carbon fiber stiffi.

You may just lack the experience or knowledge, but Lapco internal finishes are known to be the best in the industry.

They are not outsourced...CP is American made in Gilbert,Az and they are just not overpriced like most barrels...

They sell other stuff, too, that sells well. Their asa's & triggers sell well, and are priced about equal with other manufacturers. I can certainly see them being able to sell quality $30 one-piece barrels.

They are great barrels. Had one on my Ion and it never let me down.
Like Nerdcore mentioned, most of their sales are in other things like regs and asas. They can afford to keep the price low on the barrels.

I've owned one for a while and it shoots pretty well, I've been thinking about filling out the whole kit!
