Airing up marker over night

I've read in a couple of posts that airing up the marker will break in the Hyper 2/3 marker over night. Anyone know if this statement holds true?

Never heard that before so can't say for sure but I don't see how. The internals of the reg wouldn't move just sit full of air. I believe the shooting of the gun breaks in the orings and spring or shims in the gun.

The solenoid probably dislikes staying pressurized more than the reg. Afterall, your tank has a reg, and many people leave them full for all of eternity.

You are better of degassing the gun if you aren't using it, but if you forget, it shouldn't hurt anything.

The theory sounds plausible, keeping the hyper2/3 pressurized would keep the piston stem on the reg seat and form the groove in it. Never tried it so I can't say for sure. I would probably hook it up to a reg tester and keep it pressurized thru there. That way your entire marker isn't pressurized overnight as well.

As this method might work, keep in mind usually it's more than the reg seat in the hyper2/3 that usually needs to be broken in. The bolt o-rings and the LPR reg seat need to be broken in as well.

I'm dumb and thought you said break, not break in.

But don't bother trying anything special to break it in, just shoot it normally. The reg seat will form quickly. The rest of the "break in" is dynamic o-rings forming to parts and wearing, which doesn't happen just by sitting there.

Ya I read the post and I was like how can that be, no parts are moving. What is getting wore in?

If you wanna wear in the rest of the gun, get some air, take the detent ring out (to keep it from wearing) and just dry fire, I usually put a cloth over the front of the gun to create the back pressure the ball usually does just in case.

Airing up your gun and leaving it pressurized for long periods of time can do more harm than good. As the pressurized air will cause more wear on the orings than just genreal play and usage of the marker.
