Correct. Once the reg has maxed/zero'd out, the adjustment screw cannot turn any further and should allow the regulator to unscrew itself from the grip frame.

I got the regulator off by doing what you suggested. I took a different Wrench than the one included and got a little more leverage.

Now clean it out using the guide in the ultimate ion guide sticky (check my sig) and reattach (with some lubrication on the threads so you can get it off next time!) test and see if the reg was causing your problem.

i cant move the velocity adjuster so I can't see the bottom screw.

So I got it apart and cleaned it but now when I shoot it nothing happens at all. The air stays in the gun, I can hear the trigger clicking but nothing happens.

Did you make sure to readjust the regulator after your replaced it back on the gun?

There is no air going through the regulator. When you took it off using the method you used, you zeroed the reg out meaning no pressure is going past the macrofitting virtually. You need to slowly increase the pressure going through the reg by adjusting the nut on the bottom and increase the pressure to appx. 150 psi.

Even though the gauge reads 200 psi when I put air in? I should still loosen the lower screw on the regulator?

Your ion's pressure should be operating below 180 psi. If the pressure is too high, the solenoid may not have the power to act against the pressure and fully cycle.
