Only folk punk I've heard is andrew jackson jihad. I dont know if they are folk punk, but that is what you dudes were raving about a year or so ago.
Yeah, my parents listened to them as I was growing up so they're "classics" to me but I listen to a lot of the bands on this thread too basically for my discontent with society, which is the same reason those older bands came about.
well I'll just post anything I like that can be considered punk, ala metal thread
defiance, ohio
johnny hobo and the freight trains
actually just listen to everything by pat bunny
Orchid
Envy andrew jackson jihad
ghost mice
this bike is a pipe bomb
disrupt
insect warfare
early Against Me!
magrudergrind
minor threat
o'death (I guess)
mammoth grinder
minor threat
cro-mags
my buddy plays cello for AJJ occasionally. he is the dude in the bed in their latest video
hell yea i love the varukers, one of the only punk bands i still listen to on the reg. well, that is not true at all but one of the bands i was into when i was like 15i still listen to.
This thread is the only reason I care about the Music subforum, wandered in from OSST while listening to the new Bad Religion single "True North" and totally loved it, and realized the GDT in OSST pretty much all listen to rap
I'll have to check back here more often.
Also pretty excited for the new Streetlight Manifesto album... if it ever comes out. I hope it's not gonna be like the 99 Song of Revolution project. Third Wave Ska is not exactly traditional punk, but Thomas Kalnoky's writing is up there with the best existentialists poets.
