Can I clean my A5 with wd40.

Just bought a used a5 for 40$. It's electronic and has a freak kit on it, so I feel like I got a great deal. Before I try to push it back out and re-sell it I'd like to know if I can clean the gun with wd40. By cleaning it I mean take the whole gun apart and literally get the grime out of it and scrub all of that away. Once I am done I plan on changing all the o-rings and using proper Gold Cup Lubricant to oil the whole thing.

Yes, no, maybe so?

As long as you're wd40ing the bare body, of the gun which is the two metal halfs, then yes, , you can also do the rear bolt, and the front bolt, just remove the orings, other then that dont wd40 anything but the body and bolts make sure the power tube or anything else isn't in the gun

This gun had some serious stuff in it. The guy clearly didn't maintain it, but I've returned it to 100% working order now. Just waiting on a new o-ring set to come in before I put it back on the market.

I wouldnt. Brake cleaner works well though if you want to wash just the body halves. It dries clean with no residue.

you can use wd40 if you are trying to clean rust away or something as long as you have any orings and valves removed from the body. If you are hoping to leave the wd40 in there, dont. get some paintball gun oil like gold cup and use that.

Wouldn't the brake cleaner remove the black finish?
