Grienke to the Angels.
L.A. has pretty much emptied their farm system at this point

Well that sucks. Who did they give up?
Looks like we can still pursue Dempster or Garza though.

Segura and two double A pitchers with velocity but control issues.
Top 50+ prospect and two high ceiling pitchers for a two month rental

It is. But the Angels have to win now before those contracts blow up and they're on the decline of their careers.

Hamilton is a streaky hitter. When he's hot, he's awesome. When he's cold, his 20% strikeout rate takes its toll

Yeah, when I read that Milwaukee wanted someone's top 2 or 3 prospects for Greinke I figured he would stay put. Looks like the Angels are going all in on this year.

This. I'm glad we have a pretty stacked lineup so that even if he's struggling, it's not that bad. But the Rangers haven't been hitting for as much power as normal.
Kinsler only as 11 or 12, Nelly just hit his 14th or 15th, Young I think has just 1 homer. Beltre is doing fantastic though. Andrus has his average up as well. He came up at like 21 a few years ago and is still getting better. I love it.

hey Auto, how's that Yu Darvish signing looking? Oh, that's right, exactly like I predicted. His **** in the Japanese League meant jack diddly squat and just like many japanese pitchers before him, doesn't look like he can hack in the MLB. ****, he may not even end up as mediocre as Dice K.

Uh ... Darvish is already better than Dice K. DK never had a FIP/xFIP under 4. Darvish is pulling a 3.78/3.81. He's striking out 10+ per 9 innings. He's also averaging over 6 innings a start.
He is walking a lot and, in order for him to be worth the money they paid, he's going to have to develop his control. But he's far from Dice K.

I can't figure out if every Red Sox fan I know deleted their Facebook or went into hiding because my newsfeed has been Boston free this season.

Given up hope
Bobby V will end up being the fall guy, but in reality, it's not really his fault. The culture there is entrenched from Tito and Theo's time there. Guys like Lester, Beckett, Youk ... they're not going to change. AGon and Crawford are going to have massive regrets and start to regress. Ellsbury is going to look around and be dying to hit free agency.
They gotta start by rebuilding that farm system. They've really depleted it over the last few years. Ironic because it was Theo's development of their farm system that made them good again.

look at that whip. His other numbers are all pulling up to it. He'll be a mid 4 era guy by the end of the season. Cost of a #1-2, performance of a #3-4. Rangers woulda been better served with CJ, just like I said all along.

So overall I would say Kennedy dominated the Mets who are not named Ike.
Looks like he is back to 2011 form.

Yeah, his hits per 9 is right around 7. His high walk rate hurts him in WHIP far more than hits do.
Chris Sale gives up 6.75 hits per 9. Could say the only thing stopping Yu from putting up Chris Sale esque numbers is streaky command.

Firstly, do you know what the first letter in WHIP stands for? Command is a HUGE part of being a pitcher. as the saying goes, "a walk's as good as a hit", or in this case, as bad as. Pitchers like Mark Buerhle and Greg Maddux have made hugely successful careers via command. Chris Sale has lost ~6mph from his fastball since may and he's still been pitching better than darvish. He's also two years younger and hasn't been a starter the previous two seasons. Oh, and he cost the white sox 500k this season, darvish is going to cost an average of ~18.5mil over the next six(factoring in the like 50 mil the rangers had to pay to even negotiate a contract).
