best for paintball
so trying to get in shape for some speed ball, i know cardio is best but other then just running/jogging what should i do? im trying to get rid of some pounds while i gain speed/stamina

I wouldn't go jogging for miles everyday or anything. For speedball you should practice speed drills. You could do something like starting out with a 300 yard dash, take a short break, 200 yard dash, short break, 100 yard dash and so on. Thats what us sprinters did in track in high school anyways. Your best bet would be to google sprint drills to increase speed. You could even google speedball drills.
For losing weight, its all about nutrition. If you take in less calories than you burn per day, you will lose weight. Starving yourself is not good though either. Eat good food like chicken, beef, eggs, fish, turkey, rice, oatmeal (not that sugar loaded instant stuff, you can add a little honey or cinnamon for taste), yams, frozen vegetables and things like that. Try to stay away from fast food or ****ty food like soda. If you think its an unhealthy food it probably is. Im sure someone else will go more in depth about nutrition but thats just something to get you started.

The first and most important thing you need to do is get your diet on point. The above post summarized that pretty well. Changing your diet will dramatically affect both your weight and how you feel every day.
Then, you'll want to do sprints and paintball drills. Not a whole lot else to do. When do you run 5 miles in a game? Never. Focus on sprints. One thing I did that made those long points a lot easier was just staying in a power stance for 3-5 minutes. Get used to the position and get your quads used to bearing your weight for a long time.
You would be wise to join a gym and follow any basic/beginner weight training program. P90x and similar programs are actually really good for paintball and getting yourself a decent base to really gain strength. If you don't want to join a gym, I suggest doing that.

i have all of the insanity dvds, my biggest thing is cutting out soda, i stop for like a day or two then the headaches/lack of energy kills me espically when i work 50+ hrs a week

some people cant stop cold turkey, just slowly cut it out. if you are having like 3 a day, do that for a week, then do 2 a day for 1-2 weeks, then 1 a day, then 1 every other. something to ease your body into.

Get caffeine pills. Not great for you but they are a lot better than all of the **** in soda. You can cut the pills in halves and quarters to ween yourself off of your caffeine addiction.
