If you ever run into TC Viper Venom, I personally would stay away. It used to be the only thing the shop near my house sold. Sure it flew straight and i hit what i was aiming at, but 1/6 shots broke on target. that stuff was HARD.

I have not seen any TC paint in years man. Not sure if that will be a problem

You're not going to believe this, but my field uses DXS Field and the other day during practice, I shot our snake player in a 1 on 1. I yelled for a ref to check him. The ref declared that he was hit and then I saw him help the snake player up. Turns out I shot him pretty close to his temple and he blacked out. I agree, NEVER use DXS Field.

Any paint you can buy in a big box store.
Walmart
Sports authority
Dicks sporting goods
All these places get shipped to a distribution point then to the stores where they keep them on the shelves until they sell.

I have had many boxes of different brands that were so fresh that they needed to cure in open air.
The oils that they pack them in keep them from hardening all the way and becoming too brittle. This is not the case for cheaper brands, but if you are talking about DXS silver, or Allstar, this could definitly be an issue.
Keep that in mind next time you pick up a mid-grade to high end paint that you have never used before. Open it a day early and make sure it has time to breathe. I know that sounds stupid, but I gave away 2 cases one time and later that weekend was lit up by my brother with that same paint.
Every ball broke.

Agreed about Spectrum, it's VERY hit n miss even between bags in the same case. I'll never turn down Heat for a decent field paint though, it always shoots well for me but it does like to bounce a lot.

My field uses nelson hotspot primarily for foeld paint. And for field grade, it does better than heat, and breaks nice too

Idunno, I just bought an axe here on the nation, and have had 6 cases of inertia sitting in a cedar closet since last black friday (dick's had a bogo deal on it and my mom bought me it as a gift). I've shot about 2 cases of that in the last 2 days (mostly at the trees in my backyard, can't really get to a field til the weekends, plus they're all fpo except for one day a week).
I was getting breaks on trees anywhere from 60' - 100' away. Mind you accuracy was absolutely terrible, probably at 50' i was getting a 7' spread out of a bag of paint, but break wise, I didn't have one bounce. Hell even on slanted piece of cardboard they were breaking. I'd say not bad for being almost 8 months old sitting on a shelf
Did have a bad batch the one year though, some type of JT paint that was camo with a bright pink fill. the fill and shell was good, but i let it sit for a few weeks and it turned into practically one giant ball in the bag, all of them practically welded together.

I shot spectrum the other weekend and i felt it shot amazing. Matched the bore to .687 i believe it was.. only broke 3 balls in 1000 total, barrel cleaned itself out.
last weekend i shot graffiti and i felt it shot worse/same then spectrum. broke 2 balls in 1000 total.. alot of bounces.
