Dealer 54
Today is the two year anniversary of the death of two great Marines. "Sugar bear" Curazo and "Weasel" Weise were shot down and killed providing close air support to a Marine ground unit outnumbered and surrounded in Trek Nawa, Afghanistan July 22, 2010. Dealer 54 was their call sign. The last thing they did before dying was jettison their ordnance so they didn't hurt the ground forces when they crashed. They lived a life of sacrifice, and died well.
This was the day i realized that we really have no choice how things in life unfold. There is no understanding chance or circumstance. People who deserve life get death instead, and those of us who live will never understand why.
I just wanted people to know the story of these Marines. I think it is important than people at least see their names, read their story and hopefully take a few seconds to contemplate exactly what these men sacrificed. They were both husbands, both fathers, both sons and both good Marines.
Dealer 54. Never forgotten.
