It's a lot of fun for all ages!
I have been playing with/testing the Splatmaster products for over 6 months. I’ve been around hundreds of kids shooting targets, trees and playing capture the flag and everyone loves it. It is a way to get more people playing as well as getting mom’s more comfortable with the idea of their kids playing paintball. It’s not intended to be paintball, it’s intended to get people to evolve into paintball. As a pro player I think this is the best chance I have ever seen to grow paintball.

I think it looks pretty cool myself. My Son is 8 and this could be a lot of fun for backyard play. I have 4 bunkers in the backyard so this could work out well or make the Wife very angry. Either way....WIN!

to groom the young'ins to paintball.... I can see this. I just figured out what I'm getting my nephew for Christmas. even though this seems 'childish' that's exactly what its intended for. ill let him take pop shots at me running around the back yard.

Paintball's answer to clearsoft.
Reiner, I agree about players having a timespan in the game. A guy I know used to bring his kid down before he outgrew paintball. He had the same theory about his boy, that if a kid starts early, he associates paintball with immaturity and childhood and no longer wants to play once he hits the late teens.
That said, it seems to work for other sports...

I like the idea of trying to get kids going in paintball, but the problem I see here is that these basically look like toys, therefore, it seems that this is only going to reinforce the overall un-informed [about paintball} person's idea that paintball is just a game for kids who like to run around in the woods playing army.

Oh who cares? We wont ever be a multi-billion dollar spectator sport, and we're already mostly accepted by the masses. Paintball is our sport, not the "
uninformed persons"
Im buying two of these for my nephews the second I can make the purchase. its like Nerf, but way cooler, even for the kids. Nerf darts dont always go that far, and arnt all that accurate annnd dont leave a mark. This brings a more "realistic" way to play Cowboys/Indians, Cops/Robbers, etc to kids. I really dig that.

As the guy that was there with the kids, playing games and target shooting while making fun videos for 3 days I can say not one time did they play a Vs game without a full face mask on. The best part of that test weeked was when two of the three kids who have never played paintball before came back on the last day and told me they had been checking out paintball on YouTube, found XSV on Facebook and told me how far away a Paintball park was from them. One had already asked his Mom if they could go soon! |
