Pump Tourneys
Anyone know of pump tourneys in the lower NY/upper NJ area? I am really getting into pump now and am looking to play some tourneys because I like the competition but speedball is just not doing it for me anymore.

John, PSP is ridiculously expensive and even if I bought a new pump we couldn't afford to even pay entry lol. We need ABC or another local field to make an event

Its not NY or NJ, but in Massachusetts the NEPL holds a pump division where entry is 150, and also 500 for a national event entry is Cheaaaaaap.

Hell for a three day event double the price of a one day isn't too bad, granted it is 1k to drop for one event but we are just high school/college freshman so we don't have all that much money. To drop even 500 for one event just in entry is a lot for us.

Don't let the increased number of days fool you into thinking that you get more play...it's just spread out over more days. With 5 players on your team, entry would cost $100 per person...10 players on your team, entry would cost $50 per person.
As said before, any tournament you play in is a pump tournament, if that's what you play. If you can find an affordable pump tournament in your area, jump on it...or just jump on any tournament that you can afford & play with what you have.
Most importantly, just get out & play what you can afford to play!

Also, the Gravity League in NH and CT. under $150 per team, per event

When I was in college $100 was a lot of money, I think it still is to most students.

PSP is $100 per person (5man) but it is a NATIONAL level event, i wouldn't think that its something you decide on the friday before. And thats pretty cheap.
NPPL is the same level yet s was triple the cost at the beginning of the season and now i think its down closer to just double.
Local events are great but at 50-200 per team(usually only 3 man) are you really saving that much? And if you want to play 5 man you dont hve much choice.
PSP is great deal and its somewhat close(it moved to OXCC in MD)

$100 is a significant amount of money still, but if you can't afford to pay $100 for a tournament, then you might want to reconsider tournament paintball altogether. Tournaments are expensive...whether they be local fields, regional, or national, they are expensive.

F the national leagues. Playing local is where the fun is. That being said save the $ and road trip to St. Louis for the OSC.
All the cool kids are doing it.
