Virtue Programming doesn't match manual

Note: I'm under the impression that Virtue only makes one universal Ultralight board for DYE/Proto. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that still wouldn't explain this behavior.

I recently purchased a Virtue DM6 Ultralight board to install in my PM8.

The programming light cycle does not match any Virtue manual I can find.

DIpswitch #2 in the on position
Turn on the gun whilst holding the trigger
Board goes through it's normal rainbow light show

Solid Red
Solid Green
Solid Blue
Solid Orange
Flickering Light Blue
Solid Red (Again)
Solid Light Blue
Solid Orange
Flickering Green
Flickering Orange
Flickering Blue
(Then back to solid red at the top of the list)

And I've run through this list a number of times on the board. That's really really the order and colors (perhaps light blue is "teal" in Virtue lingo)

The strangest part is the inclusion of solid red twice.

This doesn't match the standard virtue manual, the OLED manual, the speedy 2 manual (I wish it was a speedy 2...hehehe)

Any ideas?

Also, I've found that stock PM8 ribbon eyes do not fit into the ribbon port on the virtue board. The ribbon strip is too wide. I tinkered with the idea of install cable type DM eyes in my PM8, but the solenoid body area is simply too tight to allow the wires to pass by on the way to the grip frame.

Thanks

You know. About every six months I return to PBnation trading forums, get yanked around by people with no cash, who propose trades they don't want to follow through on and generally waste my time. I get frustrated and go back to Ebay, then about six months later I forget about why I quit trading on PBnation and come back. And the cycle continues.

Are you sure that the led colors are simply off a few shades if the color that they should be?

Have you actually tried adjusting anything to make sure the settings correspond with what your actually wanting to change?

Thanks,

The only color that might be debatable is the light blue, Virtue might call that teal.

But, the sequence of colors and solid vs flashing vs flickering is exactly as described. It simply doesn't match anything I can find for Virtue.

I've already done a full board reset (hold the trigger down patiently until the board goes through another rainbow of color dance), but that doesn't change the pattern of lights (and it shouldn't).

I can't safely make any adjustments I might want to (debounce, mode of fire, etc) if I can't be sure of what adjusts what.

It's rather bizarre.

Has anyone seen this particular sequence of lights when programming a virtue board?

If you read the redefine manual it match's the order and colors(for the most part)

More then likely the LED's that make up certain colors like the purple and yellow are slightly off causing them to look red and orange.

Thanks,

Some of the redefined manual matches up, but much of it does not match.

My virtue board displays 10 distinct colors (11 if you count solid red twice), but they don't include the same colors (purple for example) and are in different order.

The redefined manual (found here: http://www.virtuepb.com/Redefined-web.pdf )

I've sent two emails to info@virtuepaintball.com but have not received a response. I'll try calling them tomorrow.

Thanks

You can always tell if you have a redefined board by how the LED reacts with a ball in the breach.

If the eyes are block it should flicker fast, meaning it's a redefined board. Slow blinks means it's not. There is only one redefine manual that cover's all the boards. If your board is a redefine that manual is the one you need to use and you simply got a board with bad or off color'd LED's simple as that.

Well, the only possible explanation is that you're color blind and only now finding out about it.

Suppose it's also possible that the LED is (going) bad or has a bad solder joint. Is it a surface mount LED?
