Smile How to tune a empire sniper?

Hi I recently ordered an empire sniper from my local field. I want to know how to tune it before I get there. From what I read I should turn the screw out most of the way and turn up the regulator until I start losing velocity then go back to the place of highest velocity. Then I turn the screw to desired fps. Is that correct. Thanks for the help. Is there anything else I should know about the empire sniper?

if it adjusts velocity the same as an autococker I usually turn the IVG nut (the screw you're talking about) 3 turns in then adjust the reg to get your velocity. Now just turn the screw whenever you have to change your velocity

Most pump users will tell you to sweetspot the reg and adjust the IVG(Screw in the back).

IMO, I don't care about efficiency as much as I do about the smoothness of the stroke. I want the IVG as far back as possible.
So I back the IVG out to flush with the body and start turning up the reg. 1 of 2 things will happen.

1. I Reach the desired FPS(my CCM S6.5 hits 290FPS at 325psi with the back IVG flush with the body). Not very efficient but smoother.

2. My FPS begins to drop as I turn up the pressure. I go back and find the max FPS again. I then start to turn the IVG in until I reach my desired FPS. This is actually preferred method of thing doing.

Thanks. I don't care much about efficiency because I plan on using a 48/3000 with the gun.

This. Mine came in about 2 weeks ago and after I adjusted the HPR to 225, like the instructions said, I was shooting 285-293. I left my IVG as it was, which was about 2 full threads in from flush. Once I use it for a case or so, I'll sweet spot it just like any other cocker.

The instructions say that? I gotta make a mental note to read the instructions then.

Edit: The manual says it should be set to 225. So I will do as suggested and play from there.

I'm looking to get into pump (need a back up for the vapor just in case) and the sniper "looks" field ready.
Q&_
-how much adjusting should I need to to
-how much time do I need to take to maintain it (compare it with something like ego or shocker)
-can I use LPR
-anything I should know before I do something else dumb

I've answered this in the CBB thread...

but there is no LPR on a sniper. no need for one.

The maintenance on a cocker is similar to the ego in terms of there's not much, and tuning is up to you, you could spend all day toying with it or you can pull it out of your bag and go.

Shoot a couple cases through it first to break everything in. As castro said its pretty good right out of the box, but after it breaks in a little you can get it tuned in a little smoother with the method suggested by noclue119.

Also holding the pump handle forward when you shoot will make the shot softer and help slightly with efficiency .

Another thing using a barrel kit helps too with no rollouts. You can always do the nail polish mod or fishing line mod to stop these .

This may be obvious to some, but what is the fishing line mod?

The empire sniper has duel detents and an awesome barrel kit. There is no need for those mods.

Not that crazy. I had roll out with Valken and KEE paint before. But then again, if i have a roll out I just pump again and keep shooting.
