Paint prefference and getting it

Just got into pump not too long ago and quickly found the need for top grade paint. Other than splitting cases with people how do you get your top paint without buying a whole case and storing what's left over? Last time I stored a case the fill all went to one side from vacations and being lazy preventing me from moving the balls around. Field never wants to sell a bag at a time either. So is there a way you use or should I just buy a case of the best they have and focus more on storage technic? Have to store them in my basement also if that could make a difference

don't want to store paint, go play more. If I do store paint, I keep it in a cool place in the house and rotate the paint. sometimes ill mix up with my hands just so the fill doesn't settle.

I like to use top grade paint and if I end up with extra, like Bits said, store in a cool area of your home and rotate frequently. If I do store paint, it isn't for long extended periods of time.

[quote=matts94;76116195] Field never wants to sell a bag at a time either.

What? I run a field and I don't know of ANY field owner that won't sell a customer a single bag of paint! Especially a pump player.

Are you sure your field won't sell you a bag at a time?

Many fields WILL sell you a single bag at a time but they upcharge the single bag so it is beneficial to buy the case instead just to save the money.

Any ideas on how to get the the fill that has settled to unsettle? Shells are fine. But yeah my field allows you to bring your own paint so they won't sell a bag at a time unless they know for sure they can sell the rest of the case that day.

tell the shop owner. i know some shops actaully give a small discount to pump players if they just buy like half a case, if not maybe just try to store the paint somewhere. when i play pump il buy a full case for myself, shoot half the day with pump then play the last 2 3 or 4 hours with my semi to make up for the rest. its really fun to just unload in speedball with a semi knowing you have more than enough paint for the rest of the day, the last half a bag or whatever just gets thrown in my caddy and kept nicely

That's a great idea. Yeah plan on trying to work something out with the owner or something next time. But I guess my next question is if I can get tournament grade paint would It be worth the cost to have the accuracy or is it not much different. Most people at my field shoot so much they don't know what accuracy means haha.

Rotate settled paint frequently. It will re-mix. If you can tumble it, even better. Same for dimples.

I use whatever is the cheapest but consistent.

For me that just happens to be Valken Infinity. But in a while, I'll get a bad batch with the Infinity. The next step up is Graffiti/Marbs/Premium gold.

Whatever I don't use I just hold on to it until the next time around.
