Demon not shooting above 265 fps
Like the title says, my Demon will not go above 265 fps.
It is a 2011 Demon (does not have the new updated parts that I am hearing about).
My dwell is at 17.5.
Buzzy Slick Honey is my lube of choice.
I use a Ninja 68/4500 with the ultralight reg (stock, with all the shims in).
My reg is backed out all the way.
Raising my dwell does not raise the fps, just becomes more inconsistent.
Please help me out,
Ryan

What's the regulator output pressure? Have you used this setup before successfully?
Make sure your back cap is screwed into the bolt guide and can all the way.

I believe the output pressure is at about 750.
The back cap was tightened firmly.
And yes, this setup has been successful in the past. But the last 3 weekends, chronoing has been a pain.

Have you backed the velocity adjuster out enough that the solenoid starts venting?
And if so, I assume you still are not able to get over 265.

It won't let me back it out to that point. Just to the point at which you can feel it slow down and almost grind against the bottom of the reg.
And even at the point, 260-265 is the highest it will chrono at.

Are there any leaks? Does pressure build up at the bolt tip when you put you're finger over it?

There is a set screw in the bottom of the regulator that keeps you from turning the velocity out too far. Is that screw perhaps turned in too far prohibiting you from turning the velocity up high enough?

Have you check to make sure the cup seat in the HPR is in correctly?

Had one in today at HQ,
Same issues, reset the reg and re seated the diaphragm and all is good.
I suggest as the guys above have and you should be ok.

How do I reset the reg? Is there a trick to it?

No trick, just for starters make sure your piston seat is in place and the o rings on the adjuster are good, then with no gas wind the adjuster all the way in clockwise, then gas it up and wind counter clockwise approx 2-3 turns, it's slightly different depending on where you are, but that should be in the ball park.
As Reaper said make sure the set screw at the bottom of the reg housing is backed out enough to allow you to wind the adjuster out enough to get velocity.
If that doesn't work then it's your diaphragm, failing that the noid has been over pressurised and may be damaged .

The screw in the bottom of the reg is flush with the bottom of the reg.
I will try that and see what it does, thanks so much.
