I would leave the bolt alone. The stock one works just fine. The barrel is going to depend on if you want one that will fit the shroud and front sight properly. I hate when that if you put on a smaller diameter barrel that the shroud and sight bounce around. If you want a tip that fits the M16 look you will need a double threaded barrel. Seems like alot of work for minimal gain but if your looking for a good barrel you can't go wrong with lapco. Even comes with birdcage tip.

I would spend the money on a response trigger.

Leave the bolt stock as stated above.

I like the Smart Parts barrels because they are cheap and get the job done but any barrel with a nice paint to bore match will be fine.

If you get a barrel, a 1" outer diameter barrel will keep your handguard from moving. If you go any smaller, get some electrical tape and make a spacer to prevent wobble.

get the cyclone upgrade kit its amazing and feeds true and you can upgrade that with techt parts when you want.
ACT (anti chop tech.) was a good investment for me as well.
your stock is easy to break so concider that. watch that nut holding the clamp.

I think by "bone stock" he meant the non-tactical version.

Alpha Black chopping

I have and AB/Tactical with the e-trigger, cyclone, Freak Jr. THis weekend I played and chopped so much paint i thought the gun was throwing it up rather than shooting it. I thought I matched the proper inser to the paint, apparently I was wrong. I have it set up to run HPA 72/3000, the field i played at is a use thier paint field so I baought two cases of the AllStar, the case said it was "tournament Brittle", is the chopping because of the paint or did I not size the bore correctly. If i did not size it correctly how shoudl I go about doing the proper way next time.

Get one of the cards that have the bores on them. Sit down the day before a game and size your paint. Then sort it so you know what insert youll need.

The Alpha Black (especially the tactical edition w/ the e-grip) should be decent directly out of the box. I've had one for 2 years, and love it. I've upgraded mine with a Cyclone feed, and an after-market J&J barrel. The barrel is smaller than the 1-inch outside-diameter original, but I rarely ever hold the marker by the barrel-shroud anyways. Since it's a recreational/woodsball marker, get rec or "standard" grade paint. You'll have better results, and the shells won't be as brittle. The marker shoots too hard for high-end paint - turning it into a blender as soon as you get a break in the breech.
