Single trigger frames for ramp play?

The other day, as I was watching an x-ball match, I noticed how every player was using 1 finger on the trigger. I play 5 man race-to-2, capped at 15 semi so I use 2 fingers. It got me thinking though, whats the need for a double finger trigger guard if you are only using 1 finger. I feel like the gun would be much easier to hold and run with with the smaller trigger guard. I didn't research this as I have never seen one before but was curious if anyone has ever done anything like this. I have a nxt, an sft I could get my hands on and my borg rx. Would love to hear what you guys have to say on the matter.

Been done. There were a few single triggers and trigger guards for gen 1-3 timmies, although the idea doesn't seem very popular. I think most people want the versatility to do semi or ramping and use the same setup without having a disadvantage.

you could always buy a cheap frame and cheap trigger( there should be some around for a shocker) and cut them. try it out and see what happens.

originally, Angels came with single triggers. you can also get single trigger frames up to the LCD series. granted, it was before ramping.

now what you're saying makes sense, but not everyone plays in that series, nor can manufacturers, now, make different frames for the guns, so people could customize the guns for their needs.

so you could either get 2 triggers and swap them for what you are playing, or mod the gun(through a machinist, or yourself) to change the trigger guard for a single trigger.

personally, i like double triggers. even if i'm playing ramping or semi, the ability to control the trigger for that quick couple of shots, makes it more worth while than having a single trigger. plus, you can always 1 finger a double trigger, but you can't walk 2 fingers on a single trigger.

Again guys, I am aware that this is not practical and that it is smart to have the ability to use 2 fingers if needed. I am also aware that this is not practical which is why manufacturers have not really put anything out, hence why it is in this forum and not the P.E. one. I like that shocker XKE, did you just cut out the bottom of the trigger guard and bend the remainder around? Do you find it is easier or more comfortable to hold?

you can see the space between the frame and the guard, so yes, cut and bend.

Diablo and early GenE matrix's (pre DYE) had factory built single finger triggers. I'm looking for one, but they're hard to find and run $100+ used now. Hella fun to screw around with, but not practical for true competition.

There is also some meat milled off that shocker frame. So, a little more complex than a cut and a bend. But all the same, It took every bit of 10 minutes to do...

The marker is notably easier to control. I would go as far as to argue that the added comfort may be worth it to some players to shoot a single finger frame over a double trigger frame. This is not true for me personally, but, I don't think it would be unreasonable for some.

I have played with my single fingered markers in recreational and tournament play. If I wanted to really make sure that I had every advantage I could, I would use something with a double trigger. But, for local/regional events, the added joy is worth it to play single.

If you have an extra frame/trigger, give it a go.

I also used this at a tournament recently, so maybe my taste is just a bit off kilter...

crackers, that gun is probably older than most of the people you shoot with it. plus, with a semi-only or if you want to be cheap, OR if you want to show people that you don't need the latest, whiz-bang-thrower to play. i like to pull out my Eclipse Angel ever now and then(more then, since i have to get a new battery) and show people what paintball in 99 looked like.

I have seen the geo, its a pretty sloppy *break the trigger in half, cut and bend trigger guard* job. Similar to my crummy shocker job.

Still accomplishes what you want though.

I would love some nice single finger frames for today's high end markers.

Old Shockers also had single trigger frames. I have both single and 2x frames for my 2K Vsport Turbo. Turbo was an early form of ramping. Im just as fast with either frame so I always end up back with the single. Just seems more natural to shoot. I do use my middle finger on the trigger more than my index.

Kinda accurate, but not entirely. Even first gen Air America Matrices had double triggers. That said... Toxic had a single trigger frame that would fit the Matrix boards. Any single trigger Trixes you see are Toxics.
