The TRUTH about our so called "plastic toy guns"

Ok, so I am over it! People dont know, and so they hate. Lets clear it up for them.

This is some info found at a reputable website for material information.

"The addition of glass fibre to nylons leads to very significant increases in strength, stiffness, heat distortion temperatures, abrasion resistance and dimensional stability, though properties can be anisotropic - including mould shrinkage, leading to potential distortion. In the case of Polyamide – Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Fibre Reinforced - unlike many polymers - this is achieved without loss of impact strength, though elongation to break is, as usual, reduced very substantially. Glass-reinforced nylon is commonly coloured black." found at http://www.azom.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=2050

This stuff is strong, and can be thrown around without worry it it loosing paint, finish etc. Some real weapons have these same materials in there grips. Fact is, its light, feels good in your hand, and it takes a lot to break this stuff, especially dense parts like the trigger frame. Plus, lose an eye cover? Cheaper to replace. For this day an age, these things matter to anyone who plays tournament paintball..cough ($$$) cough.

Here is a $1500 gun.

Done while running and trying to dive into a snake.

These guns are being used as rentals, and were designed to be used rugid. Planet Eclipse engineers wouldn't put anything in the designing of this gun that wasnt able to be tough.

Next time your friend laughs, just know that YOU know whats up.

Etha would shatter in the same fashion as that luxe did in the same situation.

As for the weight of the ETHA - it weights almost .5 lbs more than the luxe.

Who cares what other players say about your marker - go shoot some paint and stop trying to win some beauty contest.

Paintball is a sport of hype.

LOL that stuff wouldn't "shatter"...dude they make real gun grips stocks and bodies out of that stuff....

If i was trying to win a beauty contest, i would have dropped over a $1k on a paintball gun.

If its good enough for my glock, it's good enough for my paintball market. It may be plain and black. But it's also pretty dang tough. Btw that luxe had to have been thrown from deadbox to deadbox. Ouch

Speaking of the "real steel" made from the same/a similar material...

Glock Torture Test (CLICK ME)

After seeing this, and my personal experiences with owning a Glock, I trust the "cheap plastic" with my life.

with metal guns (ego/geo/luxe etc) its a safety feature for them to break in a bad dive if they didn't pros would always break rips shoulder and stuff when they took a bad dive. therefore it means that eteks and ethas a less safe than high ends when it come to dives and other stuff

Real firearms have used composite components for ages. No one should be worried about their "plastic" paintball gun.

I shot one yesterday, Im a big guy and it felt solid to me. I was also impressed with the trajectory of the paintball. It seemed to be more of a straight line shot than a lob. I havent looked at the insides yet but i imagine with the ping noise it makes when it shoots, there is a little dwarf in there swinging his sledge hammer lol. Its a great gun and I wouldnt worry about durability, PE has some of the most durable guns out. Anyone that hates is just upset they bought a 1500 dollar piece of **** lol...

If anyone hates on the ETHA for using GRN parts - then they're probably also piling on about the ETEK3 LT. I don't see the issue with using lighter-weight material that is just as sturdy as material used in all-metal products. What, are we too good for composite materials now that in a sub-$400 paintball marker we refuse to accept these parts?
