Dwell at 20, getting very little change in velocity when adjusting. Velocity wont go above 270 with eigenring.

I've been having troubles with mine on my dm9 too. I normally have my dwell at 18 but with the eigenring it won't go under 20. The lpr is at 2 and a half turns like it normally is. I can't get either one any lower or else it won't cycle properly. Also it seems to shoot really hard harder than my timmy. If I take it out the gun shoots a lot better and I can lower the dwell. I don't think that the orings are a bad fit because it works amazingly without the ring in.
I really want to get it working because I'm jealous of my friend's eigenring on his dm6. His lpr is at like a half a turn and his dwell at 15 or 16.

I installed the eigenring on my DM8 and a few things I have noticed. I have yet to find a setting that actually works. I started with my dwell on 16 and my LPR 2 1/2 turns out. I was getting readings of 24,260,250,220. so I played with my LPR some and it didn't help. I then upped my dwell to 17, didn't help. I lastly upped my HPR and that seemed to help some. After the day of play I removed my engine and noticed the front oring on the eigenring setup was half way over the middle one. I can't see why this would happen. could that be why my readings were all over the place?

My Dm7 setup quite differently. I'm at 13 dwell and not really sure how many turns out (I use the method of turning my dwell in until it doesn't cycle anymore and then back it out 1/2-3/4 turns. Dwell was at 18/stock). Gun shoots pretty smooth with a different sound signature than my 20 dwell setup w/out the e-ring. I got about 3 pods and half a hopper off of 1.5k psi. Does that sound efficient?

I wouldn't say that's too bad. I'm running about 300 psi per pod though. That's on a 68/4500 though. If you're running a 45/4500 it's going to be different.
I could probably lower my dwell more if I'd like, but I just read a dwell of 16 was working for a lot of people so I just set it there and tuned my LPR.

I used the Lurker recommendation to tuning via the dwell but instead of 1 point up from inn consistent cycling, I went up ~2-3 points for consistency. It was cycling at 10 dwell. Was very surprised. 13 seems to be stable for my DM7.

That's interesting. I might have to give it a shot running my dwell that low and see what it does for efficiency. I'm more concerned about smoothness though. Is your gun shooting pretty smooth with the dwell at 13?

Compared to my 20 dwell w/out the e-ring setup, it feels pretty smooth to me. Then again, I judge "smoothness" based on kick and the gun feels like it has less kick. Has a slightly different sound signature but still sounds like a DM.

I'm going to have to give that set up a try and see how I like it. My set up is pretty smooth right now, but I'm always looking for more smoothness.

Any help is appreciated and explanations are even more appreciated

From what I've found, having a higher dwell with the eigenring doesn't benefit as much. It doesn't seem to reduce kick/barrel rise in my opinion. I've had better results with a lower dwell when the eigenring is in, more smoothness and a lot better efficiency that is. Now when the eigenring is not installed, it's a different story.

got the eigening and used it during d-day in Greece!!!
Very nice, Improved my efficiency from 364psi per 140pod to 326psi per 140pod...!!
Running lpr at 2 t/o and dwell at 14ms but I am going to increase the dwell to 16ms cause I need a little more consistency!!

So I'm not sure why my gun is doing this but it's spiking and the FPS is very inconsistent. My stop ring is a little warped but I wouldn't think that would screw it up too much. Any ideas? Also, noticed I had to crank up the dwell a bit since the day was a little chilly.

What do your orings on the top hat look like? Mine kept moving and crossing over each other, I was getting the same thing. I went to a square oring and it helped.

That's just a tophat mod. You can pull it right off.
