I use an SLP on my AXE and have no issues with drop off at high rates of fire. Simon has mentioned in a previous post that the AXE will work with the SLP. The manual says specifically:

It is strongly recommended that a very high-flow “low-pressure” (400–450 psi) fixed-output system is utilized as an air source for your Empire AXE. Using a “high pressure” (750–850 psi) output compressed air tank is acceptable. If you are using an adjustable output regulator system, the output pressure should be 400–500 psi.

My guess is that LP is recommended as the output pressure of HP tanks could disrupt the sealing orings from the ASA with macro-less guns. At least I think I recall that being the issue with the Victory when it came out.

I run stock with Ninja SLP. and went down to 180 of input.

That being said, Axes can and SHOULD run on LP.

LP output tank allows for smoother shooting and better consistency than an HP output tank. Also allows for a bit better efficiency in some cases, but for the most part, it reduces the amount of wear on the internals of the regulators.

I run a SLP Ninja on my stock Axe... SLP outputs 275ish and the Axe needs 180-190. No issues with shoot down at all.

The whole idea of running your tank output just slightly above (+/-100psi) of the guns operating pressure puts less work on your inline reg and "should" result in better consistency over the chrono (provided your paint is good and fits the barrel).

Lastly, it WILL allow you to shoot much deeper into the tank fill, before you experience any shootdown.

So in conclusion, HP is a waste, unless that's what your budget allows. You'll be missing out on 1/4 of the tank fill before getting shootdown.

LP is the best option, since it works on a variety of guns.

I use an SLP, since I also have a G6r and have had good success with it.

im using SMP (ninja pro reg adjusting to mid pressure 550psi)

I figured it would just be easy enough to do what they say and provide the right input pressure, plus my reg being set to SMP allows me to use the tank with my luxe as well.

It does not let you "shoot much deeper into the tank" That's been tested by Punkworks

http://www.******.com/forum/index.ph...ic=130910&st=0

and others
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCuOLQoSTRE

They all found the Markers shot the same "depth" into the tank before experiencing shootdown. Regulators don't just stop working once the tank gets below the limit they regulate air to.

Ninja made the regs for the G6R and Victory to fix issues between their regs and Bob Long markers and they don't push them for other markers but people have spread this myth and players buy into it.

As for LP being the best option, well most guns will work on HP many on LP and some on SLP so really your best bet for a variety of markers is HP. I personally run a mid pressure setup. To each his own but when you go to sell it the SLP has a smaller market.
