What upgrades, if any, does xsv use on their guns?

XSV uses the Axe Pro, which includes the Readline OLED board. Then they put a Boss Paintball Products XSV Bolt in the marker and the Empire Sniper barrel kit gets screwed in. This is the kit that comes with the Empire Sniper pump marker.

The markers are tuned and tested before each match to shoot the most brittle paint possible. Also, the poppit is lubed before each day of play, battieries changed in the marker and loader before each event. Other then that it's just adjusting over the chronograph.

I did see a mix of Sniper barrels and SuperFreak kits in the last round of pictures.

This is correct, it seems about 50/50 people using the sniper barrels and the super freak kits.

Is it possible to buy just the barrel kit that comes with the Empire Sniper or is that just a perk for playing on XSV?

I believe at one time Boss had a few, unsure if he still does. Might have to try contacting him www.bosspaintballproducts.com
Also since Chicago several players use the super freak kit now. It's about a 50/50 split between players using the super freak and the empire sniper kit.
