Just seeing what you guys paid for paint at nppl HB and will be paying at NPPL CHI. We are a kee team, but just want to know what our options are so we can budget for this event.

I believe the Valken pro was $45 a case. On NPPL's website under paint it just says;

You may be able to call Valken and get a hold of Davey and talk to him directly about it if you want to shoot Valken, or e-mail Jensen if you want to shoot APX.

I didn't see to many teams shooting APX in HB, not saying it's bad paint since we didn't use it either just might be something to consider.

talk to the guys at valken. Im pretty sure their one type of paint was 35$ a case

Curious how many cases of paint does D3/D4 use for 7-man on average?

Just think how many pods each of your guys will be carrying and add that up. You will not shoot all of it every game, but it will give you a decent base.

It takes 5 cases to fully pod a pro team for the first point, 3 guys with 10 pods (back), 2 guys with 7 or 8 pods(mid/insert) and 2 guys with 5 pods(front). Normally about 3 cases is shot each point if I had to give an average.

With all of that said, a high estimate if you guys are good enough to make Sunday I would figure 30 cases to get you through the prelims and another 15 to 20 cases to get through Sunday (if you were to win/play the finals).

TL;DR - I normally reserve 45 cases. If you bring 10 guys thats about $200 a player in paint unless you work out a sponsorship deal, if you shoot all of it (which you probably wont).

For D3 7 man, we shot 20 cases. Didn't make Sunday, so plan on getting another 20 for Sunday.

The APX paint was ok, but we had more dimples than their should be for a national event. We had some cases that were perfect also. The paint bores really small though, so if you use APX, make sure you have a small back or insert, like .679 small.

The Valken paint is a good buy, but a little pricier than the APX. However, at a national event, it is worth spending the extra money on the Valken paint. I used the regular Redemption and it shot good for us. The Pro is more brittle, but I saw people having issues with it when it was colder out, like barrel and breach breaks. The regular redemption and APX Fyre Elite never broke in our barrels, even in the cold.
