eyes off vs on

whats your opinion and what do you play on?

i have always played eyes on. but yesterday after cleaning it and changing the bat to test something i tried eyes off and it seemed to shoot alot smoother. i also have chopped with eyes on. my guess is i get delays/hiccups with them on since i havent cleaned them at all but still seems to shoot smoother with them off.

Always shoot with eyes on. You should never chop with eyes on. Breach or barrel breaks can happen with eyes on but a true chop should be nearly impossible with eyes on.

With settings that high you are probably crushing balls in the stack and that is causing breach breaks. Not 100% on the Too board but on the Halo V35 Board a speed setting of 1 = 18bps. There is really no need to shoot faster than that.

With eyes off you will eventually get true chops and those are a ***** to clean up. And a speed setting of 4 is still too high if your are using brittle paint. If you are only shooting 12.5-15 bps there is no need to have your loader feeding at 20+ it just creates more pressure on the stack which will lead to the balls in the stack being cracked and/ or broken. Start with your loader on the lowest setting. If and ONLY you are out shooting the loader do you raise the speed and even then only by 1. Repeat the process until you are no longer out shooting the loader.

Having the eyes off will not make the marker shoot smoother, it does not affect how the marker fires. All the eyes do is detect when a ball is in the breach. The purpose is to ensure you do not chop a ball. The only times to turn off the eyes are when they fault, get dirty and don't detect paint, or when you need to dry fire.

Always play with eyes on. There are no benefits to playing with eyes off.

As for you chopping paint, as was said your loader is most likely putting too much pressure on the ball stack and cracking/crushing paint in the breach.

The bolt will be moving at the same speed rate

Ex- eyes off it will shooting 285 fps

The same as with

Ex- eyes on it will shoot 285 fps

So the paint breakage has to do with...

-loader settings
-bad quality/super brittle paint
-under boring your paint-barrel match

Eyes should always be on. If you have them on and you're breaking paint, then you have another issue. Probably balls breaking in the loader or during the loading process.

yea etha is factory and halo is also, but factory is at 4, so i might try 1...cuz i still got a break on 4. but i was shooting very dimpled heat thats been sitting in my room for about 3weeks now, cuz that paint is worthless. but but yea, idk ill see this weekend and mess with it, going to be shooting more formula 13 ( have shot that, ****ty heat, and empire custom blend.)

oh anyone ever have problems with evil, i really want to try it but dont want to waste 60 on paint that will break since i keep hearing the "etha cant handle brittle paint"

also one last thing, my tank is a jt 48/3000, want to upgrade to a 68/4500 ninja, will this improve my performance at all? debating on new tank or gopro cam for a lil birthday gift to myself.

What are all the paint options you have? The fresher the better.

formula 13 and empire special blend are great. I've been shooting special blend a lot lately, awesome paint. Evil is one of the best, but if you're just playing rec ball it is overkill......especially since you don't even have a 4500 tank yet.

As for the ninja tank or gopro, I'd get the tank first. WAY more shots per fill, very likely a more consistent tank reg, and adjustable output. But if the tank you have fulfills your needs, the gopro is the way to go. Nothing like watching a sweet kill over and over.
