MAPL #2 paint
How would you rate the paint at the #2 MAPL event?
-Excellent
-Fair
-Poor
Why?
If you played the first event how did event #2 paint compare?
Players: Did you have paint bounce on YOURSELF? and if so how much?
We do not care how many people you think you hit!
Valken I know your listening!

i would say good. There wasmt much difference from grafitti and redemption. Both shot very straight with no chops. i had a lot of paint bounce on which could be from my jersey.

Paint ratingt: Fair
Thought paint at first event was better (brittler)
Was run thru on took three in left shoulder one broke.
Took group of five in right neck/shoulder again only one broke.
My big belly hits about 50-50 bounces to breaks.
If this happened to me it probably was happening to the people I was shooting at!
I would perfer brittler paint! the Graffiti was the better of the two!
P.S. it was one of the equinox guys that ran thru on me!

The Redemption shot good. I had no problems with it. I may have taken a bounce or two but didnt notice anything crazy. My only problem was the paint selection/prices. I really wish we would of been able to shoot Redemp Pro like at Event 1. The prices between the events were the same too if I remember correctly but with two different grades of paint.
Event 1: Pro - $60 Redemp - $55
Event 2: Redemp - $60 Graffiti - $55
Bring back PRO!!! That was stuff was the ish!

Keep in mind that the weather plays a big part in this. It is the ultimate variable. High Humidity = More bouncy paint. Though I did not use the batch that you guys have I have paint from our teams that competed and it is bouncy, from being in the sun.
An easy fix: Bring a cooler - chill your paint a bit. Its a bit of a science but the infamous guys are great at it. We shared a pit with them on a few occasions and got to see what they do. Some ice in the bottom of the cooler, then flattened boxes between the ice and paint, then bags of paint on top. Keeps the paint nice and brittle.

I got a couple bounces and people were telling me they were getting bounces from us. We had one 3 man game where one of my guys hit the Keystone guy's pod pack multiple (7-10) times and they all bounced. Both teh ref and the player acknowledge this so it's not speculation. Everyone was shooting the same paint so I'm not complaining. But yes bring back the Redemption Pro. Because the 2 choices that we had this past weekend both sucked.

The paint was boucing both in the morning and afternoon. So I don't think humidity and temps had that much to do with it.

I agree. the humidity does play a factor. Remember the paint is in a sealed bag! if left out open it will effect it.
If colder than the outside temperature you may get condensation like on a cold beer! That will almost definately make th shell softer. The seam is important too!
Did anyone break paint i the gun? We had none and saw none.

Heat plays huge factor thank god my team thought About it. I feel like it shot good did bounce a few shots. (towards end of the day) but I would prefer keeping the yellow filling... As posted on the site for not being aloud to use. Green is to big of a color preference to gear color. Many teams use neon green in there look. Just so the reffs have any easier day

Paint shot great. Shot straight even with a dirty barrel and had no barrel breaks all day. Bit bouncy but broke 85% of the time.

Paint shot nice, didn't mind it at all. But I do remember diving one game tho, and it broke inside my hopper. Guess that's how brittle it was. Had a couple bounces, even one reff telling me I got bounced like crazy on the head. Ohh well not complaining aha.
But honestly, definitely liked the pro better. I didn't have problems with that, no chops, no barrel breaks, no breaking in the hopper, & no bounces.

Id say the event paint was poor in all honesty. It shot straight but wouldn't break on much. We iced our paint and kept it out of the sun which helped some but I took probably 5-10 bounces from other players (phew), and our players were bouncing people all day, had to get to the 40 or 50 to break paint on soft areas.
Bring back the pro though from event one, stuff was some of the best paint I have shot.

Event 1 55-redempetion 60-Pro
Event 2 55- graffiti 60-redemption
Really MAPL!!!! lets stop getting greedy on the paint!!
As far as paint we shot redemption, maybe 3 or 4 barrel breaks throughout the day. Everyball was dented(But thats a common thing with valken why no clue) and caught at least 10 bounces, 3 off mask...

You have to take in consideration that Pro was not ready / available / not up to the MAPL's standards for them to want to use it at the event.
The Heat is a huge factor. Humidity and just air in general to paint will make it bouncier. I didn't have any issues with any of the paint breaking but like everyone else said I did catch a couple bounces.

i don't normally complain about anything the mapl does, but for 60$ that paint should have been alot better. the practice paint my teams have shot would have been better
