reg question
I've got an issue with a hyper 2 I just got. when I air up my quest with it I get a leak out of the barrel it sounds like. When I replace it immediately after with my sidewinder, no re-lubing or anything, no leaks nada.
I'm not super familiar with the hyper 2 but I went through the reg and everything seemed normal in there, shims were correct or at least stock.
Not sure what I may be missing here. Any Ideas? Why would the one reg create the leak and the other not? Is it an output psi issue from the reg? Can I play with the shims to get a different output in the hyper 2?

No ideas eh? I swapped back and forth a couple times. Each time, same thing. Leaks out the barrel feedneck with the h2 and airs up perfect with the Sidewinder

...............................
if it helps I had the bolt pushed forward in the breach and it sounded like the leak was behind the bolt. Have nothing on my lp gauge, I stuck my finger and was able to push the bolt back without much resistance, although there did seem to be air behind...hence the leak. Once I pushed the bolt back out of the breach the leak became more pronounced and pushing past the front bolt oring sounds like. So odd. wtf? switch regs, no leak
gotta figure this out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! think! man!!!! think!!!!!

that's what I did when I went through the hyper 2. Tore it down all the way, replaced the piston o-ring re-lubed everything and reset it to zero.
I'll mess with it more tomorrow.

Screw the hyper 2 into a reg tester and verify that the output pressure is actually regulating the high pressure air.

I'm using a ninja pro 360 reg with the stock setup. 800 psi out of the box. What is optimal output for the quest? I can't remember.
What would cause a reg to no longer regulate? Lol seems like a dumb question
Regulatorrrs! Mount up!

Sticky! =D - I know it's old, but it still works!!
Regulator Settings:
1) Turn the HPR in (clockwise) about 3 threads past flush on the bottom of the regulator housing.
2) Turn the LPR regulator in (clockwise) until the marker begins to fire and stop.
3) After the marker starts to fire, turn the LPR 1/4 - 1/2 a turn further in and leave alone.
4) Take the marker to a chronograph and turn the HPR in for an increase in velocity or out for a decrease in velocity to achieve 300 fps.
How to Manually Set an HPR to approximately 220psi:
Set up a spare asa adaptor with a gauge and turn off the on/off or plug the extra holes. Then screw in your regulator to the gauged ASA. That means your cp reg, 2 litre, stock reg, or whatever reg you’re using on your gun. Then run tank pressure to this reg while its hooked up. Use the HPR wrenches to set your hpr OUTPUT by this gauge.
Use the lpr gauge on the gun to set THAT pressure.

My quest vents when using either of my hyper2 regulators, no idea why.

well after manually setting my hyper 2 reg at 220 using the method above, air'd it up and no leaky leaky.
Hot Damn!!! love it when things work
didn't try to cycle the bolt or anything but it isn't leaking when it was before, good enough for me for now.
Vegard- you ever try this?

I was going to say your reg wasnt out putting enough pressure.

It kind of works when I put larger o-rings on the hyper2s, but it isn't worth the hassle. I just use a different reg.
