its great for creek fishing. i am pretty bad with a fly rod, still pretty new, but it is one of the best methods for creek fishing since you can work holes with real good accuracy. if you are taking that course you should get a good base. tbh fly fishing is probably the most versitile method but it takes a lot of practice. i only started last year so i am still terrible

ive been ultralight spinner fishing, centerpinning and some fly on river and creeks lately.
