really bad consistency with g6r

im getting really bad consistency with g6r, like 275-308
i actually got a hot gun penalty in a tournament last weekend, but i thought my gun was chronoing around 275 to 280 to be safe. i know its not the paint because my dm6 with the same barrel and paint was spot on 275 275 276

i lubed and changed the hpr and lpr's. would raising the dwell help at all?

Have you ever taken apart your hp completely, to include the washer stack?

What kind of tank/reg?

you get full use of the air pushing the ram forward getting full contact with the poppet. with a leak you would loose some of that. just my educated guess

Cause when the gun fires air is forced to the back of the ram, if the oring is bad/damaged air will escape from around the oring and cause a variance in force that is applied ram that is transfered to the opening of the poppet which controls the air that is used to fire the paintball.

All in all, bad rear ram oring is one of the first thing to change having velocity issues out of the blue.

Understanding how the gun operates is key when teching or when buying upgrades that people tend to have no ideal works or effects the gun...

sweet deal. not to hijack the thread or anything, but hopefully with the new o ring kit and barrel kit coming in i'll be able to narrow down the culprit with mine as well. I'm also going to pick up some new gauges.

hm interesting gamer. i remember someone told me to change the back oring (it could have been you haha) but when i did, it felt like the rammer didnt slide as well in the gun. coming from a dm and a luxe i assumed you wanted the easiest sliding ram (like the bolt on a dm). my ram flops back and forth pretty easy, ill give this a try next time im at the field.

and trust me i walked around the entire tournament asking if anyone had a g6r tester....

to alpha is a schrader valve the poppit?

For a g6r ram to move freely, its either got some insane amount of wear, or incorrectly orings/using incorrect lube. Plus a poppet is not like a spool..

The schrader valve is not the poppet, it is the schrader valve... Bjorn of all people would call the item it's correct name...

Or it could simply be the fact you didn't sweet spot your gun correctly, hence why we want you to actually check your pressures...

Correct, there's a misconception that your ram should be free moving or do so easily. It should move with Dow55 on it but you want a tight seal. Believe me the pressure from the air will force the bolt forward and when you have a tight seal it will be consistent. In the older Intimidators you can get away with a loose seal on the Ram and it may be less noticable. In the newer markers (Gen4-Gen6) you'll see it manifest as a leak, as well as variations in velocity (specifically intermittent weak shots over the chrono).

The schrader valves are in the HPR and LPR (and you may know them as the Pin valve). They enable the pressurized air to flow from the HPR to the LPR Block/Body or from the LPR to the solenoid. Issues with the schrader valve lead to inconsistent air flow which can easily cause variations in velocity.
