Pooty Set with FT in
Anyone run a Pooty core with the FT in? I know my 2.0 core runs great with it in. I've been running my Pooty core with the same settings and so far so good. I've just shot about 1/2 a case at the house, no game play yet. Seems like its working properly. Super smooth and quiet, shooting a very consistent 290+/-4 or so.
Setting with both cores
Dwell-16
FSDO-0
Manifold~1 turn in
I know they suggest you take the FT out with a spring mod, just curious about other peoples findings.

Doesn't seem uncommon to run spoolies with a higher dwell, especially a Luxe with the FT in. What's your setup and settings?

The usual dwell is 14, 16 is fine.
One of my luxes is at 14, one is at 16.

dlx told me that they say to run the luxe with the feather touch out if it is a sprung core, just works better.

IMO, the FT is one of the best features of the gun. Dunno why anyone would chose to not use it. I haven't found paint yet that my gun wouldn't shoot.

I agree, all I've heard is that it won't shoot right with a spring mod and the FT in. My main question is for those who have tried it, did you set the gun up to run with the FT in? It wouldn't surprise if it didn't cycle if you were still trying to run a 10ms dwell.

Here's the problem with the ft and a sprung bolt. The sprung bolt will move faster and the ft is meant to slow the amount of air being vented while the bolt moves forward. So, in order to run a sprung setup with the ft in you need to make your dwell longer. Even the ft setup sheet that comes with the 2.0 luxes that explain the 2.0 bolt recommends a dwell of 14. I've ran a dwell as high as 18. Low dwell on a luxes means absolutely nothing. People who run a dwell of lower than 12 do so because they can not because their gun performs better.

Ragin is right on. There is only ONE benefit of shorter dwell on the Luxe, it let's you reach higher maximum ROF. Unless you are trying to shoot 20+BPS for some crazy reason, long dwell works better. Long dwell is more reliable, more consistent and equally efficient.

Hmm I just have my dwell at 10 because it works there
Will a higher dwell make it louder, more efficient, smoother?

Higher dwell=lower input pressure, should be both smoother and quieter. As far as efficiency goes, shouldn't make much difference. I know at those settings I can shoot all I carry on the field with a 3800 fill. 7 pods and a loader.

The main reason I run is higher dwell is consistency. I want the entire can to dump all of its air every shot. As long as the reg is operating properly and giving you the same pressure each shot along with good paint you should see a very consistent and reliable marker.

It also helps keep your marker functioning properly when the temp fluctuates. May or may not be applicable where you live but it matters in the Pac NW
