ULT and Classic valves. Why?

I know they don't like each other, and if you're lucky and are able to get it operating, you run the risk of short stroking often. Let's just get that out of the way.

My question is, why? Why doesn't the ULT function properly in Classic valves? Is it the difference in pressure over the on/off? Is it a depth or tolerance issue? Any clue?

The Classic Mag valve regulates the air down BEFORE it reaches the on/off. The X/RT valves have direct line pressure going to the on/off. So you have much less force to reset the smaller piston on the ULT in the classic.

That's what I figured.

So how many pounds does a ULT need then? I have a devolumizer from the run that was just done. In order for it to work, I'll need to up the pressure. You think it'll help?

Nope, not enough.

The ULT WILL work, but like stated, you can out shoot it and short stroke the hell out of it.

Figured. Just curious. I'm perfectly content with my RT on/off in my Classic.

Thanks.
