I need to get an asa for my LCD and was wondering if they are universal. Are the screw centers standard on all/most paintball guns? All the ones that I am lookin at don't specify if they are for a particular marker or not. If its any help this is what I am looking at.

That particular ASA uses a dovetail mount, so you would need to install a rail (like this) on your gun in order to use it. However, if you get a standard direct mount ASA (like this, they use universal screw hole spacing and 10/32" mounting screws.

Is the on/off feature really worth the extra $20?

It's not strictly necessary. Just depends on your preference/price range. I personally prefer an on/off ASA, but that's just me.

And do remember, use the right length screws. People in the early days had a bad habit of screwing their asa all the way through the frame and damaging the lcd board.

^Excellent advice. You might want to install the ASA screws with your grips removed so you can make sure they don't protrude into the frame.
