I believe it exists to talk about paintball for the most part such as guns, softgoods, air tanks, masks. Also I think it has alot of news about upcoming paintball events such as tournaments and scenarios. I find that there is some parts of this forum that allow you to post about problems you might be having with your paintball gun or equipment and get help from persons who can possibly help you fix it and maybe even manufactuer reps.
From my on here as well there's areas where you can barter and exchange goods for other goods or money. I myself have participated in this endeavor and found it to be rather easy as long as paypal doesnt make you give them more information than most banks ask me to give when i open an account.
It seems as well that this forum offers a game called pursuit i myself havent played it but im sure that its somewhat good for minor entertainment value with the eventual outcome of getting you a larger more annoying avatar.
The last part of this forum is that there is a few parts dedicated to non-paintball activities that way these subjects don't pollute paintball parts of the forum. I find these to to great for finding people in my local area to do activites with.
Overall, I find PBNation to be a great forum that has some minor issues such as flaming, posting useless stuff that make people read a whole ****load just to finally see what they are talkinbg about. Every online forum suffers from this though and i think that you shouldnt be angry at pbnation for these minor issues.
