nerve won't cycle

ok picked up a nerve with a macdev gladiator locally. Aired it up and it won't fire/cycle. put on a known working sidewinder and the same thing. Only thing odd I noticed is it seems like the air get's into the reg, but stops there, after both regs it was tough to get them back off and air was in both regs and rushed out when I disconnected them. any thoughts? possibly the lpr on the front?

pic of the gun for reference

try adjusting the LPR and maybe check the solenoid insert to see if it is plugged up.

Also fresh quality alkaline battery, and check dwell.

Is the trigger fully depressing and releasing the board's switch when you pull and release the trigger?

Does the marker fire if you turn the eye off?

Dwell was set at 32, is that too high???

trigger activated the noid, I hear a click

does not cycle the bolt with eyes on or off, but it flashes that a shot is registered.

If you have the stock board, and depending on what solenoid you have (Humphrey solenoids generally need longer dwell settings than Parker solenoids), a dwell of 32 chirps could be too low. The board adjusts in 1/4ms increments, with a minimum setting of 3ms, so 32 chirps up from the minimum setting equals a total of 11ms of dwell.

stock board, unsure of solenoid type, I think it was silver not black. I'll check tonight. What would be a good starting point then? I noticed if I let the gun sit aired up for a while it sounds like it almost cycles so dwell is likely the guess I think.

parker solenoid

edit: I got it to lob balls out of the barrel, but they only go about 5 feet and adjusting the velocity(hpr/lpr) doesn't help.

if I could get the dwell and rebound right I'd be ok adjusting the regs, but I'm out of air now

As you have the Parker solenoid, the dwell shouldn't be too far out. Dwell obviously varies from marker to marker to some degree, but 12ms is considered a reasonable starting point for the Parker, which would be 36 chirps.

What you could try, just to get the marker up and running, is accentuate the dwell a little, say 44 chirps; unscrew the LPR adjuster knob (just to be safe); set the operating pressure via the gauge to the middle of the recommended range (we don't know if the gauge may read high or low, hence aiming for the middle) ~240psi; then increase the LPR pressure until you get good velocity.

You should have plenty of dwell for a full velocity shot, enough valve pressure, so you then just need to set the LPR pressure high enough to open the valve.

How do you need to set the Rebound? For semi or ramping?

Rebuild the LPR. It sounds like either pneumatic lockout or an LPR malfunction. http://www.zdspb.com/tech/mguide/ner...neumatics.html

I use semi only, will set the dwell to 44 chirps

With the marker on, press and hold the power button, and straight away (otherwise the marker turns off), start pressing releasing the lower of the two buttons on the side of the board. It should 'chirp' each time you press the button. When it warbles with each press rather than chirping, you have hit the lowest rebound setting, which is for all intents 0 rebound = semi auto. Release the power button.
