They can take the chip number and link it to a new players ID card at the same table which the first entry was done in HB. If your team was given the full amount of team chips in HB it really wouldn't matter if you added a new full roster of players you had already been given the team chips and if you need more you would need to pay for them. Hence keeping the chips with the team is important and not with players who cannot play the whole season or tend to like to sell their markers between events.
I would strongly suggest that players even if they had their chips installed in HB go and make sure the chip is reading before heading out onto the field to play.
Lots of wear and tear between events can upset how the chip is sitting in the frame and if you got it wet between the event it might not be working properly.
Test it before the day you play, don't expect to go 10 minutes before you play your matches to have everything work out with technology that is just looking for failure to be an excuse for why things didn't work out for you on the field...
