So I need a sanity check here. Not that it's a big deal but I feel like I am a fairly reasonable fair person. But this happened last night on bourbon st. And it seemed wrong to me.

So me, my wife and our friend were walking down the sidewalk and these 2 whore girls working for one of the bars have those test tube shot glasses filled with probably only koolaid. They told me to buy one for my wife and I said no thanks and kept walking but as my wife walked by the girl grabbed her wrist and put the tube up to my wife's mouth and poured it in her mouth.

She then told me to pay her $8. I was like umm no. Neither of us ever agreed to buy the shot. So I argued with her for a bit then decided to walk away. She then proceeded to get a "cop" who was just a fat dude on a scooter. Long story short I argued that neither of us agreed to purchase the shot before it was forced on her. Cop said that we ate obligated to pay for food and services rendered. I countered and ask him if he would pay for a drink that someone handed him even if he didn't want it. He didn't have an answer and told me to pay her the money or he was going to take me to jail.

$8 is t a big deal but it's the principal of the matter.

Tl;dr: almost got arrested because some whore has a ****ty business strategy.

you stroke your weiner to road bikes, I stroke mine to mountain bikes. Its much more of a thrill for me to go mountain biking, whizing by trees, sliding around corners, down hills and technicals. Its alot more exciting than biking on the road. You dont need any balls to road bike, but you kinda have to have a pair to ride mountain bikes.

While I agree with everything you say about mountain biking, as a person who also enjoys mountain biking I will say that its pretty ballsy riding at speed with traffic. And I didn't think it was possible but getting up to 35-40 miles an hour is just as white knuckle inducing as the technicals and downhill stuff for mtb. Don't knock it till you try it.

not worth getting arrested over but it wasn't right. you should have asked the cop if he'd arrest the shot girl for battery since she was unwelcome in touching your wife.

I've actually been mountain biking before, only like 4 times though. I really enjoyed it. The issue is, I have to travel too far to get to a nice trail. Road bike allows me to bike from my door step. And what Crane said, going 30ish MPH and keeping up with traffic can be just as ballsy...I'm not taking anything away from mountain biking. If I lived in a more country area I would definitely invest in one.

If you ever end up coming around the East Coast who knows, by then I might have picked up a decent mountain bike off craigslist.

I didn't think the legit cops there rode scooters....last time I was there, but he was probably just too lazy to walk and the horses all hated him.

I would have told him to arrest her for battery. While not worth the fight in your situation, if I was not with a significant other and it happened I would have given it more of a go on principle. I have a sore spot for people who abuse situations like that.

Regardless, you handled it correctly and have the right frame of mind on it.

so apparently people are butthurt that me and my guys don't have a lot of work to do unless they break **** and are thus unhappy about our interweb browsing habits. Instead of taking it up with the offenders they did the little ***** thing and took it to other people so a nonspecific e-mail could be sent out telling people what they should and shouldn't be doing...

Concern has been passed along to me regarding MSS personnel web browsing while on duty. I don't have specific details on what in particular was of concern to the MOC on duty, but the bottom line is even with ongoing adjustments and not having the pressure of an imminent UCI, there still remains the need for us to maintain a polished presence on the floor. This should go for MST's as well.

I'm not going to mandate restrictions on which sites you visit or how you spend downtime. I understand we all have our things to check out or stay up to speed with. But I am passing down guidance that before you do start browsing make sure you've got all your to-dos covered. More importantly, at any time you're dealing with the operations folks, do whatever you need to do to let them know you're fully engaged with them and their issue. Be in synch with their battle rhythm as best you can as well...if they're busy, get busy. If they've got downtime, follow suit.

Other than that, I can only recommend sticking to news, military/academics sites, training, whatever the MOCs are browsing, etc. CSAF books and language courses/open courses are great too. If all else fails, use good sense or let the MOC know you'll be in the IMOC for a bit.

Two crew chiefs come in, asking if we have PMAs. Of course we do. He asks if he can have 12 of 'em. We only have 6, but a few are checked out. Told him I could give them 2 because someone else might need one. They look at each other, then at me..."Oh, we're going to go talk to super. We'll be back." Right, because talking to him is going to change the fact that someone else might come in and need a PMA. ****er.

In better news; Paid for the new MTB. Plus I went shopping a little bit. $109 later, I got a full face helmet, a brain bucket helmet and some gloves. (Plus free shipping. w00ts).
