Ya really can't go wrong with either 14 or 16
16" helps manipulate bunkers better than 14"
Good for keeping a lane under fire and gun fighting.
Stay away from the 18

14 is the best all-purpose size.

While 14 is the most popular size, most of the serious airball guys I know look at 16+.

I recommend 16" for airball and 14" for hard bunkers, personal preference in the end.

Because an 18 inch barrel is unnecessary at best and mildly retarded at worst. It gives you no extra benefit above the smaller lengths, so you're lugging around an extra 2-4 inches of weight and length that you don't and will never need.

You use the length of barrel you want to and don't answer to idiots. If you have specific considerations in mind, then you try to meet them, but no barrel is inherently wrong if you straight up like it better. For any reason.

That. In theory a longer barrel will be less air efficient but the difference would be pretty minimal, use what you are most comfortable with.
Personally I use a 12 or 14 on everything, anything longer gets unwieldy in my opinion but I've seen plenty of people rocking 16s with no trouble. Do what you like.
I would say that 18 is probably way too long to be comfortable to most people.
