Don't know if that's true actually.

I know Edmonton has Paintball Action Games and Young Guns Paintball.

Calgary has:
Rampage City (3 fields: Indoor, Outdoor, Urban Combat)
Bragg Creek Paintball
Capture the Flag

You'll be fine either way. Register on calgarypaintball.ca, projectmayhemforums.com and edmontonpaintball.com to get a better idea of the fields out here
