Empire axe causes cancer?
Does anybody know what material in the empire axe earns them this warning on the box "Warning: This product may contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm, wash hands after handling." I know after a little reading that California is pretty rigid in forcing companies to reveal these warnings. But does anyone know the deal. Would every gun get this warning if made in California? If this is specific to the axe, I will be promptly returning it and welcoming my new etek 3.lol

No worries
The bug and bunny oddballs in Cali probably think paintball is bad for the environment hence cancer causing. Seriously i am sure it relates to the lube or possibly a few of the parts. If really worried wear gloves when cleaning and don't eat any of the internals LOL

2pipes, thanks for the reply. yeah i asked the guy at the company. apparently there's brass in the poppet which has trace amounts of lead in it. Basically if you want to avoid the one in a thousand chance of getting lead poisoning, you should wash your hands after working with the gun internally. I guess people in Cali are used to seeing these warnings all over the place...we have nothing like that in NY so it threw me for a loop. Look forward to breaking in the gun tonight.

I was stationed in San Diego for 6 years with the Navy and the locals are really a breed all there own. Glad you liked the response, don't lick the internals after test fire. Ha

It's most likely the insulation in the wiring. I would not worry about it at all.

If you go to a sit down restaurant they have the same thing as a sign posted. It's jsut some BS a nut case came up with. EVERYTHING causes cancer in the state of California, that's why I wanna leave so badly.
And butterfly knives are legal in AZ too

I bet if you look on the bottom of the chair you're sitting on right now there will be a tag that says the same exact thing.

California, the state that legalized the inhaling of drugs? Lol no wonder. But the only way you could get cancer is by burning it and smoking it. And even if touching it caused cancer, they'd be pulled from the shelves.
