I'm new, be gentle

Hi,
Like the title says, I'm new to the hobby/sport/pain...
I purchased an Etha, Rotor, etc etc etc...
Had a blast my first time out this past saturday!!

I have been looking for upgrades, barrel mainly... I have read through some(most) of these posts with little luck.

I don't want to spend another $150 unless I know it's going to make that big of a difference.

As stated, And as I can find, I only see the boost kit with the .685/.693 combo ....

Does anyone make a barrel back only.. that is .685 without having to buy the kit?

I emailed PE already and they informed me that the boost kit is the only thing
available (eluding to no plans to make a kit for the Etha that does not include the .693)

Please point me into the right direction.

On another note, the email did say that the EMC kit, should be available approximately in June.

Thanks,

Reese

I would go with a freak barrel of some sort and freak inserts. The inserts are going to be more versatile if you even decide to change barrels in the future whereas J&J will not be. Additionally you have more sizing options with the freak inserts.

I would recommend freak boring your stock barrel and just buying the insert set if you can find someone locally to do it to save on a little $. Otherwise deadlywind is a good barrel option. They are very light.

Whatever sizing kit you go with, do yourself a favor and get something with a longer controlled bore, i.e. not ifit, sceptre, hammerhead fins.

Seems to be more $$ than I want to spend with the Freak + DW Barrel...

Eh.. scary thought there.. I don't think I would trust anyone to do that around here...

J&J sounds like it fits these criteria

you don't need a better barrel....you need to shoot better paint

Deadly Winds Fibur Barrel

I have purchased and used a freak kit, hammerhead kit, and multiple other barrel kits. I would recommend the deadly winds out of all of them. It's much lighter than the rest of them and you can size it accordingly. Regardless of the barrel you decided to shoot I would recommend the 14" it is versatile for each type of game. Also, put rain x on a squeegee and run it down your barrel to help the paint run out in the event of breaking a ball. The hammerheads do clean out fairly well after busting a ball but the freak kit was more accurate. We tested multiple barrels extensively trying to get the best performance possible with this moderately accurate sport. I hope this helps out. Good luck and welcome to the sport that breaks the bank.

CP Barrel kits are fairly exspensive if you buy the entire kit all at once. The nice thing about CP is you can start with one barrel back and tip and continue to build the kit your likeing. CP Barrels are also light.
