demon fsdo and fps dropp

experience a problem that i cant solve by myself.
stock settings on board
relubed with dow55
chrono at 280fps
gun broken in i guess after 40k of reballs and 10k of paintballs.

after shooting like 2-3 pods in game im having like a fps drop and it get worse and worse the more i try to shoot, only thing i find to solve this problem is to relube the bolt and inner boltcan orings and it works for 2-3 pods again, much lube in the long run.

i have changed the orings and inspected them and they are fine. i got the "new" poly oring in there the only "black" oring i got inside the can is the hardest one to get out, the one in the bottom.
btw increasing the dwell dont help just "delay" the problem a bit.

sorry for all the "" hard to explain in another language.
best regard and thanks in advance

re lube with some vaseline on the drive train. Make sure you clean out the dow real well. Let me know how it goes.

Also, check to see if your firing can is backing out or getting loose during play. Sometimes the drive train will back out causing this issue. Make sure that rear cap is screwed in tight.

If it's the can backing out, change the o-ring on that back cap, I believe it's an 019 0r 021.

Also, check to make sure your on/off is not screwed in too far choking your tank regulator. Some of the older Demons had a longer nipple on the on/off pin that would reduce air flow from the tank.

Put a new battery in to be safe. Sometimes a bad battery will build up enough voltage to work for a while then die off. You stop, lube your bolt.....and while you do this the battery charges up enough to last a couple of games again. Then it dies.

It's always a good idea to put a new battery in whenever you diagnose a gun problem.

What kind of lube do you use? Do you still play with reballs?

just out of curiousity what do you use/do to make ypur markers work with the terrible dust that reballs leave behind? especially PBD's green rug all over them, my experience is that its even worse there than with only regular dust on reballs from wooden floors

Played yesterday with new poly orings in the can, and that could have bin the problem.
But had som fsdo, will have to work on that.

Only problem was that i had to relube after about 1case, is that normal on the demon?
Forgot to try the vaselin will do that on next practis.
Best regard

No you should not have to relube the marker until the end of your day of play but then again, I heard that the Demon using reballs can have issues like that.

Eclipse grease.
When the gun is new we did the old shoocker trick some lube on the bolt to get it going. after 20-25 000 (re)balls skip the oil and just use the grease.
Remember that the dow 55 swells the orings with the orings swollen the **** reballs bring into the gun destroys o-rings.
If you played with dow55 in the gun you have to strip it and clean away all left overs from the old lube.

Quick fix for FSDO and drop off issues with reballs:

1. Take the bolt guide apart
2. Drop a couple of reballs into the back cap
3. Reassemble
4. Rechrono (you will probably need to adjust about 80 FPS upwards)

Cutting down on the air volume, raises the operating pressure, and takes care of most of the issues you are having.

Be carefull when you chrono, not to crank the HPR all the way up, as you will damage the cup seal - and either way, you should easily be able to run 300 FPS without adjusting the regulator up that high.

The factory is working hard on permanent fixes, and we are testing various new bolts, boltguides and manifolds for them all the time, until the problems are solved permanently.... should be only a matter of weeks if all goes to plan.

nice Nick, Nice tips. i hade my problem on paint. i have tested both dow55 and vaseline and the big problems are solved for me. the vaseline fixed the fsdo but still after about one case of paint i have to relube due to fsdo on first shot and fpsdropp on ramping.
and then i just need to relube the bolt and its good to go for about 1 case again.

Best regards

Use the reball trick for paint also, and you will have to lube about half as much
