Just means Arkansas teams haven't had great success on the national level as of late.

Yea I think the talent is here its just on different teams. Honey badgers got like 12th out of 48 at galveston and that's pretty damn good.

perhaps so good sir.
Arkansas does have talent spread throughout the state, unlike other states where paintball is big we don't have many facilities/fields to where we can go play against the best around on any given weekend(at least in central AR)

Yea like in California I'm sure they have 4 or 5 quality teams coming to the bigger fields every single weekend where as here we have to travel 3 ours south or an hour and a half north to play good teams its us and u of a here and we're a new team with new kids so we're just not there yet and down there its just u guys as far as I know I've been out of it for 2 years so Idk we need to work somthing out to try to unite the state more. At least so we mash up teams every now and then if there is ever a need.

Believe it or not, I am aware of the difficulties of paintball in Arkansas.

Until the population of paintball tournament players increases in Arkansas, providing a much broader range of players to choose from, Arkansas will not have top tier teams. It's simply a matter of population size/density. There are good players scattered throughout the state. Those said players do not occupy spots on the same team because of travel time for practices, travel expenses, egos, etc. The largest city in the state does not have a field. The communities surrounding that city do not have fields for tournament players.
The players on Torque live between 45 minutes to 4 hours apart. In Arkansas, that is unusual, and a difficult thing to manage and afford.
At one time, we were ranked #3 in the country. But, the same thing happened to us that seems to happen to every other team in this area. Players quit. Whether it is due to the economy, personal life, what ever, they quit. So, instead of maintaining our record, we couldn't play the last two events of the season. Which sucked, but that is Arkansas Paintball.
Until a group of financially stable, independent adults are willing to take the time/expense to practice every weekend and put aside paintball friendships to make a viable, competitive group a national team will not work. Generally, good players feel guilty/bad, whatever about leaving their friends, even if those friends are holding them back from succeeding on a higher level. There is nothing wrong with that, it's just the way it is. Cutting the chaff is hard, and another reason the mythical Arkansas "superteam" has never worked.
I've been there. I know what it takes. I just don't see it happening again as long as the economy is in the state it's in and the player pool is in the condition it's in. Just my 2 cents.

Not to be a JL nut rider, but if the rest of the guys stayed with it and gave a **** like jonpon and lee, they could easily be playing D2 psp in my opinon.

Hi Guys!! Don't want to but in on this conversation, but it is great to see this much passion that some of you are showing. I just want all of you to know that we will help in any way to take paintball to the next level in AR. We built a tournament field on the principal of making this happen. Any ideas you may have, please let us know. Thanks!!!
