Formula 1 and any type of road racing can race in packs. The only reason you don't see it much is because they have turns at 50 mph and can't be side by side. Nascar just stays close to each other at 180 mph. They can bump and still be fine. If Formula 1, or any open wheel cars, touch wheels, they are most likely going into a wall.

Racing on a tightly packed oval is the most difficult form of racing, especially when the cars are almost all identical.

Something like this is one of the most difficult things to pull off in a race car, yet Sr. did it. Manipulating the draft at tracks like this is much more difficult then driving by yourself on a track with little or no side by side racing.

That was just qualifying to show the course, they do race with more than one person. Try passing in those narrow streets, with many many other open wheel cars there. When open wheel cars interlock, bad **** happens. The processes that a NASCAR driver does during a race is minimal compared that of a F1 driver. They can go 4-5 cars wide on those massively wide and banked ovals. They get up to speed and lift throttle and turn the wheel one way and repeat the process. Finding the perfect line and driving it on the edge is what it's all about. If that's harder than a tight track like Monaco, practically lying on the ground with other open-wheeled cars, then okay. I'll agree to disagree.

EDIT: If you read my past posts, I don't intend to say what they do is easy.. But when I compare the two, and I do watch both and have been for a long time, this is what I have come to conclude.

Yeah, and I hate to see that happen to anyone. I was a huge fan of Dan when I was little.

Those drivers can lose over 30lbs of water weight in a single race. They are peak conditioned and several them compete in triathlons regularly during their off time.

An F1 car is much simpler to drive fast than a stock car, because of how well an F1 car handles. they are 2000lbs lighter, they have better tires, no clutch, better suspension, and more technology aiding in the drivers ability to drive them fast. People who have actually driven both routinely have said the f1 cars is easier to drive once you get used to the speed. Where as with the stock car you have to be a lot more ginger in your throttle and brake inputs, because you are in a car that has a lot more torque than a f1 car and weighs a lot more.

They can't handle the stress being subjected to them, this is the same reason why indy cars, midgets, asphalt sprints, and all of the other types of race cars that run on asphalt ovals do not run in the rain either. Its just plain not safe to do so.

so yes repeatedly post that ignorant picture everywhere in an attempt to be funny, just know that anyone with actual knowledge of the subject will merely see you as a fool.

Beer and NASCAR were meant for each other. Until my homie Jeff stops driving his NASCAR, I'm gonna be watching NASCAR.
