Azodin Kaos
Would the Azodin Kaod be decent for a back up gun? I hear it's really good except for that it's loud. I just wanted everyones opinions.

Great backup!
Good out of box accuracy for a mechanical marker, autococker barrel threads, slap a CP reg on it and you've got a legit all-weather marker.

Azodin
My mask costs more than my gun. It's a great gun and pretty durable.

They are very durable and fairly reliable markers. If your just playing rec ball, noise shouldnt make a difference.

Noise is actually quieter than most spyders...once you get a nice bore match'd barrel w/ good porting it is decent. It sounds much louder from the 'sending' end than it does from the 'receiving' end 50+ft away...

it really depends on what your first gun is. if you have a planet eclipse then you pull out a an azodin then you look kind of silly but if you have a smart parts or low end dye gun then it is probably good

If you spend a little more and get the blitz it will holds its own against anything.

Not really sure how that is relevant at all. How does his main marker affect the performance of his backup marker?
Back to the topic. I have had a Kaos for at least 2 years now and find it to be a very reliable mech marker. And the fact that I can use all my aftermarket barrels (A/C threaded) with it is just perfect. All things considered, my Kaos has never let me down once.

Just getting into paintball and was curious if there is any major problems out of box with the kaos? I see it is upgradable for future but is the feedneck something that needs to be upgraded right away with the proto hopper?

I didn't really like the stock feedneck. It didn't seem to hold the hopper as secure as I wanted, so I put a new CP feedneck on and haven't had any concerns since.

Pretty good gun. CO2 won't break it.

Definitely a fantastic mech backup.
Loudness is what you get from a poppet style blowback, but there are ways around it.
1 of which is by making it able to run at a lower operating pressure.
AKA Tornado Valve, PPS LT Valve, NDZ SS LP Valve or the MaddMann rocket valve, all in 11/16ths size will let you run at as low as 1/2 the operating pressure.
Other things like a proper quality Barrel and bolt will let you run it at even a lower pressure.
TechT makes the Hush bolt for it, which is actually proven to make a huge difference in itself.
Along with a .684 or .678 Lurker eigenbarrel, you can get a damn consistent, accurate, efficient, smooth and quiet mech. Now imagine how awesome that would be to shoot when you never have to worry about it going down and no one will notice you pelting them until you actually have... that is... unless they've already seen you.

I had one. It's a great gun to throw in the bottom of the gear bag and loan to new friends or if you need a backup. Very very low maintenance and tool less cleaning.
