New to the promaster family

Just picked up a promaster as part of a deal I made on here but It will come in tomorrow. I had one a few years back but as soon as I got it I had traded it off for a shocker then regretted it right away. Anyways I just got one and am looking to see whats up with it and have to go through it when it gets here tomorrow and see if there is anything wrong with it then might need to find parts for it. Hope I can find stuff still if not you guys might be getting one up for parts.

There are still parts for promasters kicking around, but mostly at ICDO. Even stock, they are great shooters for the cost.

This thing is in shambles, I got it today in pieces and it needs a new cup seal along with prolly a new oring kit just for starters. It has one detent one of the hoses was disconnected from the noid, and pretty sure the lpr is shot on it. can't get the factory reg off it to service it and well I guess this is what I get for 60 bucks. I have a feeling its gonna be a nice headache trying to replace all of this stuff piece by piece.

That sucks. 60 bucks is a good price though. We can help you through fixing it up.

Sounds good let me start off with the list of things i have found so far to be wrong with it. The gun leaks out of the breech hardcore when I had air on it the bolt stuck forward not cycling like it should which leaves me to believe that this could be a ram issue as well as the lpr being shot. I know the cupseal is out for sure and I will have a complete rebuild kit coming from ansgear on friday when I get paid. it comes with all the seals and springs and everything to completely overhaul the gun. I am gonna throw my BL torpedo on it once I get the stock reg off it gotta go buy a heafty strap wrench to do this. I know I will be purchasing the kila drive board for it prolly in a few weeks but as far as valves and valve pins (or poppits) not sure of the technical terms here for it since I use mainly DP poppit style guns. Got a cp slingblade trigger on the way as well just personal pref there. i am looking to put a bushy supafly bolt in it but who knows what will happen there depending on when i get this thing running and see how the stock bolt reacts I guess. So I guess i am looking for a ram, valve and pin set wish vapor was still in business for those kinda parts, and an LPR. Any suggestions?

Make sure your hoses are on the correct way. I have seen more than a handful of PMs that got tossed because some meat head swapped front and rear hoses. Valves can be had here and there, B2k valves are the same, so if it says B2k, it works in your PM. I'm a PPS reg guy, but AKAs are avialable still as well.

@63vdub how are the hoses supposed to go on this thing I have a feeling this might be the ram issue now that you point this out if I'm looking at the ram when I open the clam shell I have a standard barb in the very front of the ram housing hooked to the top on the noid and the I'm guessing qev barb hooked to the bottom barb on the noid is this the correct hose placement? If not I need to reverse those and it's kinda a no brainier about the one coming from the reg housing lpr area.

Bulldog pup Vaporworks is still in business. I emailed Goldie last month inquiring if he was still doing business and he said yes. Although with family obligations and other things life throws at you, he is only able to get into the shop occasionally. I'm sure if you email him before you place an order he could give you an estimate on the time frame for shipping

that shows the correct orientation. Top to front and bottom to QEV.

Leaking from the breech could be one of several things. Could be the valve seat, valve orings, ram oring, or ram housing oring. Try pressing the red button on the solenoid a few times with everything aired up to see if that unsticks the solenoid.

@george989 Yes, Vaporworks is still in business, but Sam has built a reputation of not following through with orders, being hard to contact and forgetting things. I hate to say that, because I consider Sam a good friend. However, I won't buy anything from there, because my last order took 4 months to get to me with weekly emails from me that went unreplied to. I finally had to file a PayPal claim before my stuff got shipped. Not worth the hassle when Chaos boards and Vapor valves come up on ICDO about every other month.

I never said the guy was a saint. I was just passing on info that he relayed to me through an email when I was considering ordering some parts through him. I ended up finding them somewhere else and never placed my order.

Is there anyone who makes an aftermarket ram and poppit or valve pin as they are called as well? I know some people make them and I can't really search that well for all this stuff on limited Internet on my phone and I truly appreciate all the help and pointers you guys have given me since I live in the sticks and we only get cell coverage and no cable out here and dial up is like a dinosaur I get faster response out of my cell than that thing

Unfortunately promaster parts such as those are no longer manufactured. The best place to find them would be ICDO. I was able to find a crammer (ram) and and ebay valve (high flow) for my promaster there. Just place a WTB thread for those items, if there is one available someone will reply.

Alright guys rebuilt this thing with a complete rebuild kit and now when I put air on it the bolt stays forward. The lpr is set about 2 1/2 turns in and hpr is reading about 275psi. Thinking the noid is bad in it cause I got one shot out of it but won't shoot anymore. Anyone got any tips or tricks besides pressing the red button on the noid cause that isn't working at all like the noid is stuck in one pisition
