Bonebrake excalibur ?s
I have a bonebrake excalibur and it is in original condition never been refinished it has some minor scratches nothing that even catches a nail. I have a chance to have it signed by Dan Bonebrake would this add to the value? Or would it possibly only appeal to a smaller crowd therefore making it less desirable? Bottom line would you want it signed or not? Please choose 2 answers 1 from questions 1&2 and 1 from questions 3&4.
Thank you for your time i appreciate the feedback.

I would say the value could either increase or decrease, but very minimally.
I for one, would not buy a gun that's autographed because it almost automatically turns it into a wall hanger, which is a smaller niche crowd. It's definitely cool, but I'd much prefer the signature be on the gun's original box or something so I don't have to worry about using the gun.

Thanks for the input that sounds like a good way to do it.

Honestly don't feel too sure either way, hence I'm not voting. Curious to see what everyone else thinks though.

Have him sign the grip or something that is easily replaceable if someone doesnt like it. In all honesty I dont think it would add any value at all.

For me I don't see myself paying more for a sign marker and I would still use it. I like the box or grips idea. Also maybe have him sign the marker where signature is not exposed, inside frame, tray. Have all 3 places done.

I don't think it would add to the value, but would be neat none of the less.

Everything depends on audience, who are you trying to sell the marker to? Collectors who want to hang it on the wall as a piece of history, or an AKA fan who loves to shoot his guns? Or another individual who wants to try an excal?
Where do YOU fall into that category?

Honestly I don't see it adding any value due to the fact that Dan had very little to do with AKA's history. On a Bonebrake Autococker I can see it being a different story as he was a well known tech, but signatures never meant much to me unless I was the person who had it signed.

Thanks for all the input i thought it would not help value because i feel the target group for buyers is most likely going to be an aka fan and it will be used and loved. If signed it will probably be hidden maybe the tray as joker suggested and maybe a set of grips, barrel, or a hopper
Thanks for all the input

Have him sign it on the back of the frame, take a picture, then have the signature lazered over. Not hard.
