Marker difference help??

So after being out of the game for a while I recently have been craving getting back into it. I'm starting over completely and looking to get a new marker. My only problem is that in my early years I never really learned about the different markers

So here goes, I've been looking at a lot of different markers but I don't understand the differences! I used to shoot a mini, which was nice but a little small and was too light and off-balance, plus the recoil on such a light marker was off-putting. I also had a DM3 for a short time which shot like heaven but was a little too bulky for me with it's brick body. So I'm at a loss

I've been looking around and I see DMs, Egos, PMs, SLs, the Axe, and I just don't know what'd be good for me. I know this is rather broad but if anyone could shed light on the differences on a few of these in laymans terms I'd really appriciate it.

(Also, I'm not really well versed with taking markers apart for lots of matience so I'm trying to get a marker I can learn to keep up without accidently messing something up every time I take it apart )

Thanks guys!

The axe is an awesome marker for the price, get that and the infamous boss bolt and you'll be set! Easy mainetence too.

If you have more of a budget try planet eclipse, I shoot a geo2.1 and the maintenance is soooo easy on it.

Dye is a more high maintenece gun than others.
So I'd Rule out anything by them if that's a big concern. They do make great guns though.

I had a mini to start with and upgraded it, after the upgrades it was pretty awesome ha for a mini.

My friend who is starting recently got a 2010 rail and it kicks way worse than the mini did stock. It may be just his because the guy he bought it from NEVER took the time to clean anything but the outside. It pissed me off very bad because my friend got ripped off bad ha.

But that's my input on it man good luck!

Price range probably around 300. And most fields have all day air so efficiency is not a big deal for me unless it wouldn't even last a game... 500-600 shots max. And by smooth feel I'm assuming you mean firing? I really loved the feel of the DM3 shot so yes smooth feel would be a want.

You miighhtt can find an all stock axe for around that, that would be a good choice.
Or of course the mini is always in that range.

You can find some way older pe, dye, and pm guns around that price. I personally wouldnt get an older gun like that for a primary marker unless you can get parts easily.

And by smooth you're right he most likely means the kick and the way the trigger feels.

I would try to find a good axe, v2 and up mini, the newer rail, or reflex rail.

Personally, I'd get a G4...But I'm probably biased towards DP guns seeing as I own one. They're decent mid range guns, really light, they shoot ropes without too much kick and have decent air efficiency. Plus, they're easy to take care of. (It takes me under 15 minutes to clean and lube every part of the gun) Until you start playing consistently every week for a few months, there wouldn't be any reason to get anything else. You could probably get one with upps for under 300. Your other option is an Axe which I was looking into recently but I decided to keep my G3

Dp fx you can pick one up for $350 get a hush bolt and you have yourself a real catch. It's a poppet so it's not that smooth both that hush helps so much it's pretty efficient I get about 1600 shots a fill. Also it's light but nice sized for a big guy and has some great features like oled board so you can see what mode you in and max bps etc, and a great easy flip asa.

DP are great guns, a lot of people complain about their reliability, those are usually the people that don't read the manual, they are simple guns that have minimal o-rings, and any issues (usually overlubing) can usually be solved in a matter of minutes(the DP forum here has regulars that will go out if their way to help)

PM8 is arguably the best gun dye has ever made. It is small, light, comes with a ul frame and is a terrific gun.

Of the ego7/8, I'd go with the 7. It is cheaper and you can do a banjo mod (remove the QEV) and make it a rock solid reliable gun that shoots pretty decent.

However, at $400 I'd strongly consider a DM9 (cutting it close in price) with an eigenring, a MacDev droid or drone, or an empire axe. All of the ones listed are super smooth and will give you room to grow into the marker.
